Just bought a new red 350Z. Has some swirl marks from the dealer. Not bad just can see them in direct sun light. Just received a pc7424. I was just going to try FPII with a white pad. DO you think that will be enough. My first time using the PC so I don't want to go to the abrasive stuff yet and its a brand new car. I hate to start removing the clear so early. Will FPII take most of fine swirls.

thanks for your help

Golden Rule of all Autopians:

"Go less aggressive and work your way up if necessary."

I would suggest you try one section first with FP II and see how that looks. If it still doesn't get the swirls out, then go with FP. I've used both polishes, BTW. They are excellent products.:up

To be honest, in my opinion if you are trying to remove swirl marks then I would go with IP first, perhaps try a less abrasive pad, and increase the abrasiveness of the pads if it doesn't work.

I haven't had any success removing swirls with FPII (That's not to say it's not possible, just that I have had no success with this product for that purpose). As suggested go with a small area at a time. I would follow with FPII to remove any induced marring, then top with a carnauba, or your preferred choice of LSP

As Axe says, I havent had much luck removing any swirls with FPII via PC. I think with a Rotary FPII will remove swirls better. I would start IP with a light cut pad.
