Different people can interpret things different ways. The customer might have benefited by having more info, or she might feel like she was being given a hard sell, we don't know. But since she said she was looking for a good job and not a perfect one, that would tip me off that she doesn't really care about premium products. Either that, or she isn't unsavy, she is just trying to bargain with you. It would be pretty easy for her to look at different websites of detailers in her area and shoot some emails back and forth with everyone to try and get them to drop their prices. She might have noticed that you offer the most, and wanted to see if she could get a better deal.

I do think that it's a good idea to stick to your prices and not be arbitrary based on how much or how little business you have. If you had a long-time, loyal customer and they found out that someone waltzed right in and got a better price, they would be FURIOUS. If things were so slow that you were considering lowering your prices temporarily, then you should put out coupons or better yet, give people discounts on referrals. That way you can fill up your time and have your customers help market for you.
