What would you charge?

For a one step polishing job on a 7x16 white enclosed trailer with moderate to heavy scuffs and scratches on one side? This particular trailer also has the painted roof edges that are in need of the most attention. The condition of the paint is very good minus the damage mentioned earlier. I basically plan on hitting the whole trailer with D151 and a purple foamed wool pad and polishing the fenders above the tandem axle wheels. They are the very skinny fenders that have the wheels inboard of the trailer. Just a rough guesstimate regarding pricing is what I'm looking for... thanks!

How long do you think it will take "YOU"?

Well, I actually started it this past weekend and pretty much finished the heavily scratched side and most of the front. Haven't touched the roof edges yet or the aluminum fenders. I spent approx. 3.5hrs getting that far. So, I'm estimating roughly the same amount of time to completely finish the rest of it up, maybe a little more as the owner wants me to blow out the inside of it as well. I'm not sure how much stuff is in there yet. What really kicks my a** with this job is that it was performed in the full blazing sun with 90+ degree heat. At least the other side of the trailer is shaded by a tree, but this wknd is supposed to be hot as hell also.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking also before i asked. Sounds reasonable, although when I'm actually out there sweating like crazy, double that amount doesn't sound too outrageous at that point in time.

You'd probably get better results with menzerna 203/hydro tang followed by OCW compared to 151/pfw....better in the long run as well after the 151 fillers wear off

Charge that by the hour with a 4 hour window - low end and a CAP

I did a similar trailer last year for a local racer friend (runs micro midgets).

Estimated 14 to 16 hours, and $350.00 for the work.

Actually took a few hours less than I estimated to him.

First thing, I "ABC'd" the entire trailer, most of the oxidation, soil, etc came off during that 20 minutes.

Then cleaned off any road tar with the New Car Prep.

Hit the bad spots with a normal compound and a 4 ply yarn wool pad.

The rest used Cerius with a lambs wool pad, spraying the area with Fast Finish as it was done, then buffed it with the same pad after spurring it clean. Resprayed and wiped off.

Used this on the aluminum as well, then hand polished it with Mother's mag wheel polish.

Did not put on any other protective sealant, as the Fast Finish will last 2 or more months and it was going into inside storage a month after I finished it.

Told him to put on some wax or Nu-Finish liquid over the winter when he was bored.

Saw it last month at county fair, looked as good as the day he picked it up from me.

Actual labor time-start to finish-7.5 hours.

Product/materials costs, aprox $8.00.

Pretty good profit on that one.

I know it's just a trailer but wouldn't D151 and a PFW pad leave noticeable holograms? (Assuming this is done via rotary)

Yeah, but the trailer is white so its not a big concern for me. Also, I need it to be a one step type product and the D151 is the only product that I have that provides the necessary cut and protective ability. The only other options in my arsenal would be Poliseal or KAIO, but I think those would be too mild to eliminate or reduce the scratches and scuffs.
