I've got some Eagle racing 058 wheels (Classic MT style with holes going around it) on my truck. They are about 16 months old. I've searched and been reading and reading about polish. I've used Mothers Mag polish by hand and they aren't nearly what I wish they would be. Even new they weren't the finish in the picture. I thought at first they were coated, but I get dark tarnish when polished, so apparently they are not. They are not in bad shape, just need that "mirror" look.

I was gonna buy either the Flitz or Mothers polishing ball. I also have been reading about polishes. I've seen Wenol, Flitz, Mothers Billet, etc.

I have a couple different questions.

1) What tends to be better between the Flitz ball and the Mothers? Considering not only polishing but durability.

2) What would be the best polish? I've never used anything but Mothers Mag and Eagle polish. I don't know anything about the Wenol, Flitz, or any others.

I'm gonna try to include a picture of the wheels, but also the link the the webpage in case it doesn't work.

THANKS

I've heard great things about Flitz, but I've always used Wenol. I use the red to get the majority of the wheel cleaned up, and then follow with the blue to finish it off. Wenol is very hard to use though, it takes quite a bit of elbow grease to get anything done, which is why I usually use a buffing wheel on my drill to help out.

Regardless of what polish you choose, be sure to clean and seal them or you will doing this nearly every month. I suggest Klasse AIO and SG for protecting.

I tried just about everything on a badly oxidized diamond plate aluminum truck box. BADLY OXIDIZED I stress! Flitz was absolutely worthless IMO. It was way too wimpy. Tried steel wool, but didn't like the look it left although it did demolish the oxidation pretty easily. I gave in and bought a Mother's PowerBall and used it in conjunction with the Mag and Aluminum Polish (I found the Billet polish to be weaker), and this combo worked great. It took time, but it was the only combo that produced the results I was after. Whether you choose Flitz Ball or Mother's Ball just make sure you have a cordless drill with good batteries and some balls because you will need it.

Semichrome is some serious stuff it really does have some cut in it. I personally like Whenol Red as it seems to leave less micro maring than semichrome. It also might be the towels I was using. Get the Mothers ball with the power metal polish because it is easier to apply a liquid, but I'm not sure how strong it is. Mother Billet is weak for cleaning, but leaves a nice shine.
