what would be the ultimate detailing van

just wanted to know what some pro detailers who are mobile to describe the ultimate detailing van to work out of
 
The truly ultimate van for detailing would be the new Dodge Sprinter , aka the Mercedes Sprinter direct from Europe. Great vehicle , not sure on price just yet I've trying to get it from the dealer they have the van on the lot but know info , go figure.

They are on the Dodge website. I was in the one on the lot , full stand up height lots of room for cabinets and equipment. Best of all is the engine 4cyl desiel , Mecedes built of course.
 
Ok I just called the dealer first it's a 5cyl desiel not a 4. Everything has it's price , they want $30,000 for the 3500 dual wheel high top , cargo. To me that seams steep , but it is alot van.
 
I would get a Ford E-550 Super Duty truck that comes with just the cab and no bed. Would get the 7.3L disel in it.



I would then have a custom bed made on the truck with water tanks, pressure washer with a reel for storing a long hose at least 50' long, built in carpet extractor that has a reel, an air compressor, and a generator.



I would then have it setup so the compartments opened up and had all my chemicals in easily accessable racks, easy to get to shelves and storage things for all my small stuff like brushes, razor blades, toothpicks, etc.



Now, I bet that thing would cost a lot to be built counting you have to have a custom bed made.

f-350 not dually, and black. Extended cab, 2x4 with air bag suspension.



Trailer would be about 16 feet, black, with a fold out canopy on the side. The inside would have a generator up front, pressure washer and extractor behind that, and have a big water tank on the back dual axles. There would be a side door with all teh chemicales in the middle of the trailer, because of the water tank.



All letters on the truck and tailer would be gold.

Then you sould have to pull a trailer around. A van or large truck w/o a trailer would be easier to get into parking lots, etc.



With a custom bed you can haul as much as a trailer... cheaper to go w/ a trailer but we are talking ultimate detail rig here :D



Like the idea of a pull out canopy! I'll have to add that to my vehicle along with a bathroom... :D

I have seen these around town, I think FedEx and Airborne Express are replacing their trucks with these. The ones I saw were from Frieghtliner. Same thing.



Maybe Ford will import the Transit now.



Maybe you guys should Enter to win the Site Commander. I know it is for mechanical contractors, but I think it could be modified.

The one thing you do not want to do is hook up to a hydrant!



When firefighters "catch the plug" aka the hydrant, the first thing they do after connecting the gates is to flush it. Sometimes, small stones and other debris can get throught the water mains and into the hydrant. Fire department pumper intake valves have screens to catch said debris. Fire pumps and firefighting nozzles are expensive and our lives depend on an adequate water supply.



Another thing...opening a fire hydrant with out permission can result in a hefty fine. In my community, contractors who need water for a construction project can tie into a hydrant. The water department sets up a hydrant gate and metering system..the contractor has to pay for the amount of water used.
 
A Honda Odyssey EX-L would be the perfect detailing van. 3.5 liter 240-hp V6, navigation system, DVD entertainment, huge cargo area...
 
OK....I am going to give away here a real dream detailing "van". I always thought it would be like way cool to have a big rig and a 40 ft. enclosed trailer painted in really bold colors, gleaming chrome pipes and tanks and wheels. Awesome logo on the trailer and inside...oh man....you pull the car in and detail it there. The sides would extend out and it would be cool to even wash the vehicle inside the trailer.



Yeah I know this is like big time dreamin but for me that would be the ultimate mobile detailing vehicle. OK back to reality.
