I liked the compact size and power of the WD4050 but was disappointed to find that it didn't come with much as far as accesories. Seeing as the accesories would run another 25-35 it put me into the price range of the WD5500.
5 Gallon Wall Vac - RIDGID Professional Tools
I went ahead and got the 5500 for a really good price on ebay. It is great to be able to hang it on the wall to save valuable floor space in my garage. The hose is long enough to reach anywhere in my vehicle w/o removing it from its mount. Now all I need is some time to break it in.
