what truck is best

i am about to incorporate my business and i will be in the market for a truck to pull a trailer because i want to be fully mobile. what truck do you guys think would be best to accomplish this? i want a faily new truck for dependability and stylish reasons (2002-2004).

There are pros and cons to each manufacturer. Most any half-ton or bigger truck will work for a detailer.



I, myself, am a Chevy man and would look at a Z71.



You'll need to be much more specific though for more help.
 
My father in law hauls his fifth wheel pretty easily with a 2005 Chevy 2500 and I have zero problems with my 2000 Chevy Z71 hauling a trailer with two quads and a dirtbike with another quad in the back of the truck. Most any truck from Chevy or Ford will take care of all your hauling needs. After that, it is just a preference as to what you like.
 
Ford makes the best truck at the moment.



Dodge has the best diesel engine.



The Chevys are outdated in my opinion.
 
Ford builds a good truck. The Tundra is the nicest 1/2 ton in my opinion but it needs a larger engine.



I have never been in a Chevy that did not squeak, rattle, have interior panels falling off, or A/C going out. Nice trucks but not the highest quality.
 
i second that for the chevy not being of highest quality. 2 of my friends have one, a 96, and a 2001. both have had problems with a/c, interior panels, and especially int. door handles breaking.



used to have a dodge, ok styling, but very bland inside.



my dad just bought an '04 f150 FX4 xlt ext. cab with the new body style. No problems towing our 5th wheel, or atv trailer. this is the nicest truck i have ever been in. very very nice styling inside and out, very comfortable. we have always owned fords and none have had problems whether interior or mechanically.
 
Opinions on trucks...



Dodge... has great looks but still uses 1940 technology. They have alot of problems with steering components and rear axle gears:down



Ford.. makes a nice truck but there diesel is extremely loud and lacks creature comforts. It is a work truck but not a family vehicle.



Chevy/ GMC.. In my opinion by far make the best vehicle.. from stainless exhaust, stero systems, comfort and drivabilty I don't think you can beat the GMC.. Especially the Duramax Diesel.. 310 HP and over 500 ft pounds of torque.. :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs
 
I have a 2001 3500 chevy and the fuel gauge sensor thing has now bugged out on me 2 times. 1k to replace it too. The mechanic said it is a very common problem on the chevy's.



I had a 2000 f350 dump truck with a power stroke, best truck i have ever owned, not a single problem, but watch out for the oil pans rusting out.



I would go with a ford, me personally anyways. Ive owned 6 ford trucks, from rangers, f150, f250, f350's, all have been good to me.



I like the look of the new Dodges, but would only buy one if i was planning on replacing it in 3 or 4 years.
 
You might consider a full-size V8 American SUV. Most can easily carry detailing equipment (i.e. vac, pressure washer, carpet cleaner, etc).

Nothing like demostrating your work on a vehicle many people are now driving. A notch above the rest. :nixweiss



Styling and hauling at the same time. :D
 
My father's employer buys around 12 new trucks every year and has had all three brands. Judging from their experiences with their large fleet, ford and chevy are really close in quality with a slight edge going to ford. The quality of the dodges has been miserable and the mechanics have insisted that only chevys and fords be purchased from now on. I guess even the sheet metal on the dodges is a lower grade. These are all 3/4 and 1 ton trucks.
 
Stay away from the dodge if you can afford to.. They are nice looking trucks but have alot of recalls for steering components and rear end gear problems... You might save some money up front but it will cost you alot more in the end
 
Test drive the new Nissan Titan. It has 305 hp, 32 valves, double overhead cams, disc brakes on all wheels. Drive it after you've driven each of the big three and you'll never look back.
