What towels do you use?

I used to use 100% cotton made in the USA, per Zainos instructions, but I saw a thread here a while back which had magnifications of MF and Cotton towel marring. The 100% cotton towels had significantly more marring than the MF. I also here that not all MF brands are created equal. What do you guys suggest?

MF towels are the only way to go. Get good quality ones that are sold for detailing purposes.

so what would be some good ones that will not leave more marring in my paint? I currently use both mcguires MF towels and 100% usa cotton towels but I will buy a bundle of whatever brand is said/tested to be best.

The ones available at your local Pep Boys or Kragen are "ok", but not the preferred towel of choice here. Meguiars may be the exception to the rule though.

I am very happy with all my mf towels from www.autopia-carcare.com They all do what they say they will do. I don't know if they are the lowest price or not but I feel they are great value and high quality.

Personally, I prefer to use 100% cotton terry towels for both application and removal of all cleaners, polishes and waxes.

I bought a 50 pack of these and a pack of his WW towels last year , holding up nice , well worth the money . :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

I use Excel, Pakshak, Meguiars and a few Autogeek microfiber towels. You seriously can't have too many either. I probably have about 120 or so.

the towels i have from excel and pakshak are awesome. I use them for all my paint work. For the dirty jobs like engines, wheels, wheel wells, etc etc I use cheapo autozone microfiber.

i'd buy all terry if i could find good ones locally!! i mean i like my microfibers but terry is way better for product removal. i do like my concours buffing towel and i really like my blue pearl towels from the autopia store. good value for the performance.

Meguiars may be the exception to the rule though.

agreed. also, go to your local autozone or kragen and you can pick up the blue Viking microfiber drying towel (can also be used for removing qd's/polishes/lsp's). even though they are available otc, they are just as good as any other boutique brand out there.
