Looks like I will need to change my avatar!!!

I just put a deposit on an 01 Pontiac Trans AM WS6 with 9,000 miles on it. 6 speed. Totally original. One owner. I am flying out to look at it next week. If all checks out, I'll pull the trigger.

It will be my first time working with polished aluminum wheels. Why they didn't go with chrome I'll never know but anyway...

What do you guys recommend for wheels like these?

I have Optimum metal polish and HD metal polish. Will those products work? Should I just use a MF to polish them? How about general weekly cleaning?? Just Meg's diluted APC ok?

Should I seal them?? If so, with what? I had read on another forum (not as good as this one obviously) that if you seal polished aluminum wheels they can lose some of their shine.

Can't wait to polish that car with all the nooks and crannys....in my best Borat voice...NOT!!!

All help appreciated!!

I used M105/M205 on the Vette wheels, which should be the same or very similar in build.

WOW! Raksy, that is an amazing recovery on those wheels! Probably better than new :)

D, that is a cool find on the car. I hope you can resist the temptation to do all sorts of modding...

If they are factory wheels, I agree with Chad. Almost 100% positive they will have a clearcoat. If so, Blackfire All Metal Sealant is awesome for sealing wheels. Two coats will get you through an entire season and they will clean up with soap and water. Cars looks mint. Congrats!
