What to use on rims?

Guys what are you using on rims? I got the new meg. spoke brush the long one with yellow bristles. I dont like it at all, it could be a really good brush if it had more bristles.

for a while i would only use a sea sponge. it did make it a lot easier to move around without hurting u're wrist

I use my pressure washer and some phosphoric acid diluted like 20:1 . I'll use automagics magnificent non-acid cleaner for polished and uncoated wheels.

The EZ Detail brush from CMA or Top of the Line. It is similar to the Megs brush you mentioned but there are many more bristles and they are higher quality. It is an excellent tool I use every wash.

Phosphoric is by far the best alloy cleaner, ive used it on my S55 for the last 2 years.

I've been using a toilet brush for quite a while that I got at a janitorial supply house....High quality bristles, wood handle, $2.99 each.

I have a few other brushes but they are the shorter ones for around the inside edges

For cleaning the rims I'm using PB wheel cleaner, mixed 50/50

Yeah... I probably don't use it that much. But still, 10 bucks a year isn't bad!

I use a brush similar to this for the wheel face. Then I use this brush for the inside of the wheel and hard to reach areas. But what really does the work is the Megs Wheel Brightener diluted 3:1.

Personally, I try to say away from any type of brush that uses a twisted piece of metal to hold the bristles for example a toilet brush or the Megs spoke brush. I just have images in my mind of some bristles falling out and then the metal rubbing directly on my wheels.

I have that same brush, but it will not reach in my spokes on my passat. I really have to shove it in there and I dont like doing that. I wish the meg. brush had a thinker brissles.

Like I said check out the EZ Detail Brush. Much thicker than the Megs Brush.

I checked it out on tol and cma and it looks pretty nice, but the only dimension noted is 18". I have the meguiars and it's 10" from where the brush starts to the tip and the handle is 5". looks like the ezdetail is about the same but with some space between the handle and where the brush starts?

Meguiars Wheel Brightner + OXO Spoke Brush on the inside of the wheels. Outside is a sponge with Hyper Wash. If the wheels are very bad I will spray wheel brightner generously prior to using the sponge. If the wheels are not very bad I use Meguiars APC diluted 4:1.

The EZ detail is about 5-6 inches in diameter (the brush part of it anyway) it's longer than you'll probably need (unless you're doing a viper with it). The 18" is the brush length, not the handle. I like it better than the meg's spoke brush, less of a chance of scratching a wheel because the wire that holds the bristles in is coated in polyurethane.

Also the concentration of bristles is so dense you can barely see the wire that holds the bristles. Night and day difference between the Megs and EZ Detail Brush.
