What to use on a maroon 350Z?

I have a 2003 Nissan 350Z. The color is Brickyard. It's a very deep metallic maroon. The car has minor swirl marks. It's time to detail the car.I would be doing this with a PC. I need to order some new supplies. What would you recommend I use to get the swirls out and get that deep, wet, swirl free shine back?

My personal choices, in the order I would use them:

1ZUPP, 1ZPP, 1ZMP, AIO, SG x 2, PS

The only step that I MIGHT not do is the UPP. I am saying this because you are saying that the swirl marks are minor, and always use the least aggressive method possible to attain your goal. I would actually try a small area, that is swirled the worst, with PP and spray that area with an alcohol/water wipedown to remove the wax and see if the swirls are completely gone. If they are still there, THEN use the UPP.

Yeah I agree with the 1Z line, but like you already stated, UPP wouldn't be necessary. PP removed some pretty decent swirls in my case.

Lots of combinations will do the job, and you will probably have 50+ recommendations.
Chances are, they will all do the job for you.
For me, a pretty basic system that is easy, economical, and not too time consuming is;
Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 - PC, polishing pad, speed 4-5
Klasse AIO x 2 - PC, polishing pad, speed 4-5
4 Star UPP - PC, finishing pad, speed 4-5
With the exception of the swirl removal, any of the steps can be done by hand with good results.

In my case, I would do the #9 until I was satisfied with the appearance. Do the AIO twice, just to be sure I didn't miss any areas. After a day, week, whatever, I would add another coat of 4 Star UPP.
I have also used #9/AIO/S100 - #9/SEC/S100 - #9/PwC/NXT with good luck, also.
See what I mean about combinations.
Lots of good products out there.

Charles :)

minor swirls you might be able to get away with using Megs #80 with a polishing pad then going over it with VM and then a layer of your choice wax/sealant. NXT gives great depth on dark cars but nothing seems to be able to touch Pinnacle Souveran for depth.

I just did one a few weeks ago. I used menzerna IP, FPII. Sealed with WG, and topped with liquid souvern. The owner was pleased. It really brought out the metallic.
