What to use before AIO

I have a light blue Honda S2000 I have used the twins before but this time i am looking for something a little more aggressive to use before i use the aio to remove some more swirls that the aio wont remove.

I plan to wash clay use soemthign before aio, 3 coats of sg w/ a 24 hr curing period in between each and top that off with s100 How does that sound??

try DACP(dual action cleaner/polish by meguiars) it has done wonders for me. also another good product is 1z ultra paint polish. tomorrow i will be trying out sonus sfx-1 and will post a review of it shortly thereafter. hope this helps.

Can i use the DACP by hand or it has to be done with a machine?

If i were going witht he poorboys ssr would i get the 2 or the 2.5 and the one and in what order do the stronger that lighter ?

DACP if im not mistaken should be applied by machine. the poorboys goes from (heaviest to lightes cut) 3-2.5-2-1. im not too familiar on these products but im sure someone else will chime in to help us out with this

Does the poorboys ssr fill or remove the swirls if it fills them wont it be useless to use aio on top as it will remove anything put under it?

yeah it would be useless, but the ssrs dont fill them, rather they remove the swirls.. dont quote me on this, but im pretty sure they are pure polishes. are u going to be doing this work by hand or machine?

nice car by the way.. mind if i ask what year?

I have a suzuka blue S2000 also. Couple of things:

1) which Twins you talking about Menzerna? If so They should be agressive enough based on my history with them.

2) Are you doing this by hand? You infer that and that may be one of your problems. If you want to get the car nice and keep it that way, i suggest investing in a PC and some god pads

3) DCAP followed by #80 or #9 should do the trick, but I think you need a PC.

Others here should be able to help you with swirl removal by hand

No i was talking about the Klasse twins and i wanted somethign a little more aggressive to use before the Aio to remove some more imperfections that the aio wont.

If you only buy one SSR, get 2.5. If you can get a second one get SSR 1...it does not seem to have any fillers and is a great prep for your paint. You can go straight from 2.5 to AIO however I prefer to use a polish before AIO. IMHO and my experience AIO will bring out any marring induced by defect removal.

Sorry about all these questions but i am a newbie and i want to learn. I already have the Klasse twins and have used them before. But this time arround i am looking foir something to use before the aio so would this be good? any problems using

poorboys ssr 2.5

Poorboys ssr 1

Poorboys polish ( or can someone reccomend one to me)

AIO

SG

s100

Would that be overkill. what should i change or add i have to buy thses products so i want to buy the rights things

well aio and sg isnt aggressive whatsoever so basically you need something that actually takes away imperfections. aio and sg will just make the stand out. say you only have light swirls, then i would go with megs dacp with a polishing pad and then if that doesnt work, upgrade to a light cutting pad. also you pretty much need a pc for removing swirls. you will thank me in the long run. good luck.

If you buy SSR 1 you can use that as a polish. I sometimes use an additional polish after it, but that is overkilll to some...SSR 1 does prep the surface pretty well and if you want to go to AIO I don't know if I'd use PwC...I haven't tried ProPolish before AIO.

Personally I like using the Sonus Paintwork Cleanser before applying AIO and the Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion also works well. SilverLexus raves about the P21S GEPC and his car looks great; I haven't tried it personally but I've seen the results Lee gets with it.

S100 is a great value; you may want to consider Natty's too...you should be happy either way.

To many non-Autopians this is all overkill, and it probably is to some of the folks here. When it is my car I go all out these days!
