What to use as my LSP

Hey guys im curious what everyones current favorite LSP is right now. I have a 2008 BMW M6 in the silverstone color. I have use the Zaino system which is nice but just finished a full correction on it with 105/205 and the surbuf pads (which kicked but by the way, thanks KB.) I am now looking to make this baby looking its absolute best even though it is silver. Durability is not a huge issue i mean i wash like 3 times a week and have been using OCW, again great product. Lets get everyones input on what the thing is the BOMB right now. Thanks fellow Autopians.

For silver my favorite combos are the these:

1. 845 topped with OCW

2. 845 topped with Pete's 53

3. CG's EZ Creme, BFWD topped with RBOE

4. CG's EZ Creme, JetSeal topped with Pete's 53

The ones with 845 are the ones I use during the winter months.

Another great combo for silver is DWG topped with UPGP.

Or simply UPGP. You just cant beat it. Every time you wash, you can put some more UPGP on and it will take less time than the OCW.

Split the hood in two and try 2 different products. On silver I'd bet you'd have a hard time noticing a difference unless one of them darkens a lot like Megs 26.

Damn wheres that acronym post when ya need it LOL. I was thinking of the UPGP I have heard good things.

LOL ... here ya go!

RBOE- Rubbish Boys Original Edition

BFWD- Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant

OCW- Optimum Car Wax

I'm sorry for using so many acronyms guys!

Someone said the detailing bug bites... and when it does you can never have enough LSP's.

I originally had OTC megs and turtle wax products.

When I started detailing for fun, I picked up:

- Collinite 845

- Collinite 476

- KAIO

- Danase Sealant

- Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant 3.0

So far I have used the KAIO to clean the surface and topped it with 476 in some areas, and 845 in others. In the summer I hope to find out which one/combo looks the best and offers great protection.

DWG- Danase Wet Glaze. An acrylic defect hider/glosser adder.

I did KAIO + OS 2 coats and it looks pretty wet & glassy on my black lexus. I'm planning to put PBH + OS 2 coats next few weeks to see if there is going to be a difference in wetness.

Different silvers look different with different LSPs. Hard to generalize if you're talking about that last 2% diff and what *you* like might not be what *I* like anyhow.

FWIW, on my oh-so-pampered silver S8 I like UPP. My wife's fave on the same paint is Souveran paste wax.

I dunno about 476S  I like it and recommend it, but I didn't really care for how it looked on Audi silver (and neither did my wife, last time I tried to slip *that* change past her :o ).

Lots of great suggestions guy thank you. I keep hearing good things about UPGP and UPP and think i may go with one of them. Will a glaze help much before? I have a bottle of the pinnacle i think its called XTM glaze i could throw down, i know my Meguiars #7 has way to much oil in it to put down before one of those sealants. Keep them comnig guys love the good ideas.

Make sure the glaze is sealant-friendly or you'll have a mess on your hands. Too bad DWG is off the market (what follows excludes consideration of DWG).

I don't go with glazes on silver as I get the paint corrected well enough before this step that they don't add anything I like. Glazes can often darken silver, which *I* don't like. For that reason I wouldn't go with something like #7 (same reason why I might use #7 + #26 on a red or black car).

I've tried other Meg's Pure Polishes (#3 and my beloved #5), and they just aren't what *I* want on silver paint. But hey, other people *do* like the look :nixweiss I prefer the dazzling, "blinding in bright sunlight" look, which UPP absolutely give me if/when I get the prep right. Only problems I have with UPP are a) lousy durability and b) pretty lousy protection against stuff like bug etching. Sure makes the S8 look great though, and the slickness makes it easy to do marring-free washes *IF* you refresh the UPP quite often.

If I wanted a "darkening" effect, I'd go with BlackFire.
