What to do with my Blackfire?

recently theres been a debate about the longevity of blackfire. A few months ago I purchased this product from CMA becuase of the rave reviews on the site. I thought..hell if CMA loves it.. its gotta be good!

After applying it on my GTI things looked great...but after a while small swirls began to show up. So when i stripped it down, i ended up applying SMR-->P21S-->Zaino.

I'm really happy with the Zaino but is it too soon to give up on Blackfire? Or should I save it for detailing other peoples cars... (or would that be a sin?)

I just wish there were definite answers to the whole blackfire deal asides from what CMA said about it. Any opinions?

If you are unhappy with the Blackfire, give it to a friend to try. I give away a lot of stuff that I buy or that is given to me if I don't feel comfortable with it.

Sounds like you only used it once (maybe twice?). I would be willing to buy it from you if you decide to pitch it. I have used it on 3 cars and have not seen any sign of swirl marks. Maybe your swirl marks were already there before you applied the Blackfire? Send me a pm if you are interested in unloading the rest of your BF.

lol volvo you hit the nail on the head!

I saw an auction on EBAY for a Ford F150 factory radio. The bidds were up to like $120.00!!! I have two sittin in my garage right now!

If you are looking at tossing it then definatly try selling it first. aBay is a good forum to start in. I'd be interested in buying it from you. I like BF. CMA is the company that makes it. That's why they have the most information on it. Do some searches on it. It got really rave reviews from people early on when we all bought it.

If you only tried it once then you should give it another shot. If you like the appearance of Z better, then stick with Z. Save the BF for detailing other people's cars. That's what I used mine for. I'm all out now. I'm down to just my Klasse. Time to find some Z I guess. ;)

thanks for the suggestions..

Since Zaino doesnt work with anything else, and i spent DAYS detailing it.. i dont think i will be stripping it down anytime soon to re-do the blackfire. I applied BF twice ot my car and once to my mothers car.

that said, i have 65%-70% product left... BF polish and sealant. PM me any offers... thanks =)

...do an experiement since you already have both Zaino and BF. As you know I have been using a 1:1 mixture of Z2 and BF protectant on a "garage queen" and love the results. Could you possibly do this experiement and observe if you like the results. You would only need to mix 3-4 cc of each product to cover most cars with possibly 2 coats on the hood, top and trunk.

I would love to hear your results and opinion of this procedure. There are several other Autopians doing this experiment and would like to get as many experiences as possible:bounce

PM me if you would like the specifics about mixing, drying and QD'ing.
