hi guys. i'd like to ask for tips or products to clean my headlights. anything that can restore its original look.

thanks..

I am assuming they are plastic. Some paint polishes, such as Hi-Temp's Light Cut can be used on plastic. I know there are other polishes that are compatible with plastic also. Some people have had luck using metal polish, but I personally have not tried it. In severe cases wetsanding may be necessary. Hope this helps.

Meguiar's PlasticX works wonders for me. Even got a very yellowed light back to clear by hand (parts of the light at least, the rest needs a PC or something.)

thanks guys. but what product d'ya think can save me some bucks? have to watch out with my spending these days. but in any case i'll try both to see results. more tips are appreciated...

Check out this thread I started about how well Meg's PlastX worked for me. My headlights weren't in terrible shape, but it did improve them considerably. There are pictures in the thread that speak for themselves. I believe that PlastX is only about $5. A warning: it took several passes/coats with the PC. So, if you are doing it by hand, be prepared to do a few coats. Luckily, headlights are such a small surface area that it doesn't even take long to do a few passes. Good luck and report back with how yours turn out.

Assuming glass lenses (mostly older cars): glass cleaner. Basically, anything you'd use on your windshield.

Assuming plastic lenses (newer cars, especially those with aerodynamic headlamp coverings): Plexus plastic cleaner.

Now, you did say clean, and that's exactly what I recommended above. If you need to polish, the recommendations are completely different. But a good cleaning is always necessary before any polishing, so...

yup. i agree. what's important is that i should have "clean" headlights. thanks. as for the plexus you've suggested, guess i'd have to stick to a reasonable product price right now. thanks again. :bigups

I shined my Jetta's plastic lens really good by running my PC set to 6 with a polishing pad & Zaino fusion. There is still some pitting but it has been greatly reduced, all of the yellowing is gone too.
