What tire shine?

I have used Armorall Spray Foam, Black Magic Foam, Black Magic Aerosol, and Meguiar's NXT Insane Shine Spray on my tires. The Black Magic Spray and the Insane shine work the best. But I have raised white letters on my tires, and the sprays work great, just awesome. But after a few days (sometimes even hours), the raised white letters on my tires turn yellow and brown. Is there any sort of shine out there that will give me the mirror-shine on my tires that I had with the NXT spray, but won't yellow the letters?

I feel like I waste my Westley's Bleche White when I put the tire shine on, just makes them look dirty as crap again. Any suggestions?

I avoid foam tire sprays now. I don't know why, but the yellowing is a common cause. I use commercial sprays and work them in with a sponge, making sure there isn't excess around the rwl.

the yellowing brown color is from brake dust and grime that those dressings attract. i rule out the idea of it being the tires own oxidation, for the reason that u get the browning and yellowing 3 days after, and oxidation of rubber takes a couple weeks. nxt and black magic are both very greasy dressings, and although they give u the mirror like look you want, they attract and HOLD dirt and dust more than waterbased dressings.

try using less of the product over a bigger surface of the tires sidewall.

if u want a good shining product but dont wanna deal with the excess dirt and grime that comes with oily dressings, try

-dupont teflon tire shine
-armor all ultra shine
-turtle wax f21 protectant (not the foam tire shine)

those dressings mentioned will give u a high gloss, with significantly less dusta nd dirt attraction

using westleys bleach white too much isnt a good idea, seeing as its a very strong cleaner that can actually remove a significantly large amount of the tires own uv blockers.

Use AutoMagic's SuperDressIt for high gloss, last about a week without changing colors and no sling.

Does Gel Tire Shine work better?

If so, what kind? This would mkae me worry less about overspraying that oily crap on my chrome wheels.

Usually, in my experience anyway, tire gels work great if given a long time to dry, like 1/2hour to an hour. There is a current review on Wolfgang Diamond gel, which I am trying on my own right now. It takes longer to use, has a good result,b ut I'm not sure the durability is any better. No sling from mine (and no overspray, obviously!).

As for working better, that will depend on what you are looking for (gloss, durability...), that will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
What I personally like about the gel, is that it being thicker than a spray type is that it seems to stay in place, instead of running.
I always apply my tire dressings with a swipe so I don't have an issue with over spray.

Good Luck

For a shinier dressing, I like Turbo Wax Tire Gel. You want to talk about a little going a long way? I had a 2 ounce sample initially. I dressed 9 sets of tires...yes 36 tires, with just 2 ounces. This stuff spreads forever and lasts longer than anything I've used. A couple sample pics:

You're really limiting your product selection.

OTC, Eagle One Gel looks pretty similar but doesn't last as long.

That tire shine is insane!! How is it for attracting dust? Kind of looks oily but most all real shinny tires do, to me....Thanks

Beemerboy: None really noted. It dried completely (can't say that about all gels out there) after 20 or so minutes (says to wait an hour before driving). I am using up the rest of my stock (other lesser dressings). Once I re-order, I'd like to do a longer term test to see how it works out.
