Big Leegr
Swirls?!?! NNOOOOOOO!!!!!
So Ok, maybe not so much of a shock now that Dwayne has pictures of many of the 4 Star Pro products on the PAC site, but when I ordered it, there weren't any.
Tried it on grease (a grease gun, actually)-worked great!
Tried it on hydraulic oil-worked great!
Tried it on carpet-dilluted 4:1, as per instructions
-as a pre-spray-worked great!
-as a spot remover-worked great! Only thing it didn't work on was some orange baby food. I'm thinking mushed carrots. I'm also thinking that the mush stained the carpet. I got most of it out, but even using WL at full strength, there was still a faded yellow spot left.
Package/label-Typical 4 Star Pro label. The gallon jug is graduated. (Quarts, liters are marked on the side for easier dillutions). Safety cap on gallon. 32oz. bottle-sturdy, translucent, black sprayer with off/stream/off/spray pattern
Instructions-Says it can be used full strength for tough jobs, 1:1 for tires/wheels, and 4:1 for carpet/upholstery/vinyl
Pretty basic. I think 4 Star tends to give just the basics as they are marketed towards professionals. Pros should be able to figure things out without being spoon fed. Just my thoughts on the sparse directions typical of 4 Star products.
Mfg. claims: It is an all-pupose cleaner. It does work fast (doesn't need much dwell time). It is dillutable. Works on vinyl, cloth, and other surfaces. No outlandish claims are made, and it does what it says it can.
Value-$4.95 for 32 oz., $8.00 for a gallon, $32.50 for 5 gal., $225.00 for 55 gal. Considering you can get up to 5 times the amount of cleaner that you buy, it is pretty cheap, I think. Not necessarily the cheapest, but for sure not the most expensive. If you compare it to some over the counter products that are not dillutable, this is a real bargain.
Ease of use-Spray, wipe/rinse, done. Pretty easy.
I found that with the carpet use, White Lightning rinses very well. Often with many products there is excessive foam, but not with WL. (Does foam, but not overly). Also, some products tend to leave a residue on the fibers that later attracts dirt, making it look like the spot has re-appeared. WL rinses quickly/cleanly.
On the grease and oil, there was no need to let it soak a few mins. to emulsify. A couple of spray and wipes later and I had a squeaky clean grease gun and jack.
pH/safeness- I'm going to say this isn't pH neutral, but don't know for sure. It does warn that it contains sodium metasilicate. I've also read that it is a butyl cleaner. This isn't likely the most enviro-friendly product around, but I didn't notice any immediate adverse health effects with me.
Also warns not to use full strength on aluminum or magnesium wheels or painted surfaces.
Smell/looks-You really don't want to be misting this stuff in an enclosed space. You will likely cough a bit.
Looks-Red (not white, red.), Watery consistency, dillutes well.
Overall, I think this is yet another "works great" (quote often found on 4 Star products) product from 4 Star.
