This is how I refer to a pass. I go over a certain areas several times before I move on to the next. If I put more product on the the pad and 'hit' the same area again, then it'll be my second pass of the same product. So it doesn't matter how Snake patterns I do, its still one pass for me

That's the same was I refer to a pass. One pass is: apply product to pad, spread, work (however long), wipe. One pass.

I'm the same as both of you, most polishes that I use would not even come close to breaking down properly after 3 "snake" patterns.

There ya go...

1 pass = 3 snake patterns with a rotary, or 10 snake passes with a DA haha

In the end what matters is that you get out what your trying to, or blend it and don't take too much... the passes part is just something useful for newbs like myself who don't know the difference when we read posts and even manufacture instructions... I think the M105/205 states 5 passes on the bottle which I thought was interesting and wondered what they meant.

To me, I apply the product, and when I'm done breaking it down and wiping it off, that's my first pass. If it needs more, I do it again for the second pass. It doesn't really matter what everyone calls it, the process is all the same.
