What takes out holograms, ssr1, ssr2.5, rmg?

I did a red tahoe with my good friend last night with optimum compound and orange pad via rotary, and he finished up with ssr1 and white pad via pc. He says today in the sun there are some holograms. Should I go to 2.5 on a white pad on pc or rmg or orange pad on pc and ssr1? Need help, was trying to do a better job than a local guy with crappy Ardex crap.

i have always been able to take out halos with ssr1 and polishing pad via pc. You shoudl have finished with OCP if you had it with a finishing pad and the rotary or OCP and a polishing pad via pc. With the ssr's and the pc they might leave a haze so if you used ssr2.5 you might/will want to finish with ssr1.

I have not yet aquired some optimum polish, I think that I may try the 2.5 on white pad suggestion. That may work. i hope?

The method needed to remove rotary holagrams depends on how deep they are - they shouldn't be very deep with with OC, as it's a mild compound. I'm not the biggest fan of PB 2.5 with a PC, but 2.0 should do the trick and be more than enough to remove halograms.

Whats our method for determining the correct procedure?

Do a 2x2 section using the least abrasive method and work up the ladder of abrasiveness until the problem area is at your satisfaction.

OCC with polishing pad and PC should finish up quite nicely (since you already have it), probably better than SSR2.5 which isn't a bad choice either.

SSR1 probably didn't have enough cut, so RMG definitely wouldn't be the smart choice.
