What should I do with my new black lancer?

As stated in the title, the car is pretty new (one month old) so I don't want something with alot of abrasive qualities... but looking for durablity and ease of application since I'm doing it by hand.

It depends on how far you're willing to go in keeping your car showroom clean. If it's got scratches or swirl marks, you might want to think about polishing. I personally recommend claying no matter what. As for waxes/sealants you got Zaino, Collinite, Klasse, & Werkstatt (if I'm not mistaken) to name a few when it comes to durability and ease of use. You might want to run a search on those products. Good luck. :)

Yes, as FitSport says, claying is very very important. If you are going by hand, you are probably going to be limited to fillers rather than abrasives unless you want to spend a really really long time doing it.

Maybe just get some KAIO or JW prime strong and top it with some collinite 915 which has great looks and insane durability.

Also, the age of the car very often has little to do with how many swirls it has, I have seen brand spankin` new 2007 cars that are swirled to heck straight from the dealership. In fact, its more common for me to see new cars that come swirled than to see ones that come with none!

Shows you how careful dealerships are when they wash your car... I am sure some know what they are doing, but far too many come right out swirled from day one.

The 1Z line of polishes (available here: Welcome to Exceldetail.com! or Aloha & Welcome to Our Oasis for All Your Auto Detailing Supplies & Accessories ) are great for use by hand. User-friendly and effective, they combine mild abrasives with good fillers. Follow with Collinite wax and you'll be good for many months (and the Collinite hides stuff too, better than sealants will).

The 1Z Metallic Polish is *so* gentle as to be basically (functionally) nonabrasive on most autopaint. You could use it every month for years and never have a problem. Easiest stuff I've ever tried that still does something. And the 1Z/Collinite combo lasts for many months on my daily driver, even with Ohio winters. Get a few coats of Collinite on there and you'll be good until something happens that you need to polish out.
