Hello Autopians,
Noob here! I have been reading this great site for a couple of weeks now and eventually it had it's effect: I bought a used PC, a set of 5" LC pads and M105/M205 8 oz set. I also got a free sampler of Poorboy's EX-P sealant and now I am ready to do some good ol' hacking on mine and my girlfriend's car:buffing:. So, I have a 2003 jet black BMW 3-series and she drives a 2001 maroon Hyunday Elantra, both cars a purchased used, been fairly neglected over the years and now they are daily drivers and they are parked outside (no garage). Actually I just bought the BMW in May, and it looked alright when I saw it first, but it was late afternoon and no direct sunlight, but let me tell you, it had the full "Hack and swirls" special performed by some idiot wit a rotary. The hood was entirely hologrammed, and a lot of the other panels were as well. So I hit the hood with M105 and yellow, then orange LC pad and that took care of the holograms effortlessly. I then followed up with M205 on white pad and finished with EX-P on a black LC pad, It looks much better now, but unfortunately all the chips and deep scratches stand out much more. Anyway, last night I decided to try something else on the hyundai and I work 7 days now, and the earliest I get hoe it is 6 pm, so not much daylight left and I wanted to get it to look ok. I hit it with M105 on a orange pad, did the whole car and it noticeably improved just from that, but I was running out of time and had a bottle of Meg's Cleaner Wax laying around so I "finished" it with that . At least it had some protection on.
Now sorry for my long post but I just wanted to give some info about what am I doing and what I want to achieve, here is my question:
Is there a sealant I can put on top of Meguiar's Cleaner Wax? and if this is not possible what sealant would you recommend in my situation?
I am not looking for show appearance(I can't even dream about it in the condition the cars are) and I can't spend too much time on this either, I am after a good , clean looking daily driver sealant that I can use on both cars, I need something really durable and decent looking, so I can go about 3-4 months between applications and if possible to be able to go on trim as well.
Thanks all for the responses!
