What sealant do you guys like to use?

Doc, have you tried Optimum Opti-Seal? If so, how did it compare to the PGP?



You say that you apply UPGP very thin, and a little goes a long way. I have no doubt that is true, but the same can also certainly be said for OOS.

I have and I like it also, but still prefer the UPGP as I find it produces a deeper more reflective finish and less plastic, at least on my car.

At this point I have to say that I am more interested in DWG. I guess I have really missed the boat on this product.



I've always dismissed discussion about DWG because I thought it was a true glaze, which I really have no use for (given their limitations in terms of lasting) but it appears that DWG is a completely different type of glaze as it is made with acrylic polymers, and has no oils to attract dust.



Very interesting.



So how is DWG different than a regular paint sealant?

Yes, it is not the type of glaze that people think about when you say glaze. It has no fillers and its sole purpose is to add wetness and some depth. Oh, the UPGP also provides a much wetter look that Opti seal and when combined with DWG it just blows you away.
 
I always had assumed DWG was a glaze hence it's name but from the sounds of it, it's just a really dynamic product overall. It confuses me, LoL.



On another note, I used to be an IE resident... I lived in Colton... if any of you know where that is, LoL.

Cool! Yeah I know where Colton is, it is like 2 blocks long :D, but a nice little town. There's quite a few of us in the IE. There other members who are also part of Autopia, but more active at Detailing Bliss. We should organize a get together for those of us in the IE and other Autopians in So Cal can come.

DWG is a great product. You can use it as a base, as a topper, or in between with no bonding issues.

Yeah, my Aunt lives in Colton!



Small world indeed, because that is a pretty small city.
 
Hehe yeah, we still own the house down there in Colton and currently are renting it out. We drop by SoCal from time to time. In fact, my family will be doing that next weekend on their way to San Diego. Unfortunately, I will not be able to join them given my schoolwork duties. :(



Perhaps something can be arranged in the summer (despite the ridiculous temps during that time of the year in the IE). :lol

It was around 95 degrees today! :eek:
 
I use Meguiers NXT2 tech wax for wax, and Carbrite Weathershield for sealant. These products work well for me and are consistent. I try not to buy into the hype when people have the next best thing, because I do this for a living and don't like to waste money.
