What`s up with these paint bumps?

The ABC system is also private labeled for Ford`s MotorCraft product line. Either one is approved by Ford and the use remburses the dealer for use.

I just wonder now how ABC compares to these more easily available boutique three step alternative products. I have a feeling ABC still offers a notable advantage.

For over 2 decades, companies have attempted to duplicate the ABC system, and since they do not have working relationships with OEM`s ,their paint and trim vendors are only able to "sort of" do so and as a result in time their "copies" usually resulted in time damage to the paint film and exterior trim. So "no short cuts"or such.

It sounds like those small paint bumps on your Jaguar might be due to contamination or issues with the paint finish, common in older vehicles, especially if they've been exposed to the elements without regular protection. Since you've just started detailing it, a clay bar treatment might help remove some of the surface contamination, but if the bumps remain, it could indicate either embedded particles in the clear coat or minor imperfections from a previous paint job.

I'm assuming the panel is steel based on the comments. But those bumps are common on some SMC panels due to bonding agents working their way through the plastic and coming to the surface. It's a real common issue on 4th fbodies.
