What rotary buffer to go with?

At a body shop i used to work at we had a Dewalt, and worked nice but just curious what to go with. and of course pads and what size?

anyone with opinions?

I like the Makita over the Dewalt personally. The over the top handle and the lighter weight makes it a lot more comfortable to use. We have a Dewalt now that replaced our Makitas and the Makita was muuuch nicer imo.

Another Thing I forgot to mention

I'm looking to get my garage in order and will order a lot of Sonus products

But which Pads (for the buffer should i get?) The car has nearly no imperfection in the paint

and what rubbing/waxing compunds?

I got the dewalt for $40 off of craig's list and i have no complaints. I have heard that most people like the makita better. If the dewalt would not have come up for cheap, i would have a makita.

I reccomend the Flex 3403.

One of the lightest buffers as well great for a beginner with 6inch pads.

My Makita has been doing a great job for me over the years. If it broke tomorrow, I'd replace it with another.

How much do the Flex run these days?

I just picked one up as well. They're usually a little over $200, AG is currently running a deal that includes the buffer and a carrying bag for $210

There's been a huge number of "what rotary should I buy?" threads lately. Look around a bit for 'em.

+1... Makita is the sure way to go, Hitachi a close second... lots of people are in love with the Flex but lots of people are also experiencing over-heating with it...

+1 on the hitachi. i use mine with 5 1/4 lc pads. works nice

+1 on the makita I used mine for the first time the other day and it was so nice and simple. I use lake county CCS pads (various sizes) I like menzerna products they give amazing results for the pad cant go wrong with a white pad they work wonders, also what type of car you as german paints tend to be harder...
