What Quick Detail do you use on S100?

Whats a good Quick Detailer to use on a S100 Wax???

Maybe an even better question is this.

I want to try an AIO/SG/S100 Combo. After Im finally done is it nessasary to spray Quick detail on S100 or can I just add more S100 every other week or so? I mean weather I spray it on or apply the paste, it almost takes the same time???

Meguiar's Final Detail ( not Final Inspection - a very good product also but not as glossy as FD) and Clearkote Quik Shine look great with P21S. :xyxthumbs

I'd just apply more S100 myself. If you get tired of doing it every week, try Meg's #16 and see if you can tell a difference in looks, they're pretty close *IMO* (you WILL notice a difference in durability ;) ).

For QDs, Quik Shine and Griot's Speed Shine have both worked well for me on P21S.

It doesnt matter what you use as QD.

Personally, I've always qd'ed right before I wax (with s100) because it gives me a last chance to remove any loose specs of dirt missed in the wash before I grind it into the paint when applying wax. That's the only time I'd actively recommend using qd; using it any other time is just personal preference.

QDing goes by much quicker than applying paste wax.. you can spray with one hand and wipe with the other when qd'ing, but waxing is a two-handed job (at least for me ;) ). You'd have to alternate between putting down the wax and picking up the towel.

I agree with Raymond, it really doesn't matter. Use the QD you like best. Personally, I like Clearkote's Quikshine.

quikshine is my preferred qd. Here's my ranking of the qd's i've tried:

quikshine

eagle one wet wipe and shine

final inspection

sonus qd

eimann fabrik clear pearl

final detail

My top four are all very close in performance to me, but QS leads the pack by an appreciable margin. I only use sonus on cars with klasse, and appearance-wise i like it the most of all qd's i have. clear pearl is something i'd finish off with after using one of my top 3 qd's. Final detail is a distant last to me; I don't like it much compared to my other qd's, but i dont hate it, either. It doesn't feel like it has as much lubrication and dirt encapsulation capabilities as the other qds, but that is purely what i feel from experience and not what i know as a fact.

You are correct. FD has zero dirt encapsulating ability. Like all QD's in my book (strictly person usage) not designed to be used on a "dirty" or even dusty surface. JMHO :wavey

Most Body Shop supply stores carry or can obtain FD for you from their distributor within hours. It only comes in 1 and 5 gallon containers. 1 gallon runs $16-$19. Rather cheap for such a fine product. A "real" sleeper. :xyxthumb

Thanks Aurora 4.0 (Bob) for turning me on to this stuff. :bow

I love Quik Shine, but I just got the Pinnacle Signature Series Kit, so I'll be giving Crystal Mist a try real soon.

Poorboys Spray and Wipe is the all around product that will do most any job you need done....windows, QD'ing, washing the whole vehicle. If you get a bottle you'll never be sorry.
