What products to use for my Onyx Black IS300?

Aight well I guess I'm still confused as to wheter i have a clear or not. I'll dig deeply into it. In the meantime can someone recommend some good products to use on my IS300? I'd like try to get some swirls out of my car. I'm still considering a PC. Does any one have any suggestions as to what products to get to use with the PC? Should I get a PC to work on my car? Comments and Suggestions greatly appreciated.

I'm in Northern California. In the bay area. Too bad you live in the Souther Part of Cali. I do go down there often so if I ever decide to take my IS300 down there maybe you can show me. :)

Okay, I'll say it. Yes. Get a PC. If you have a black car and want to get the swirls/scratches out of it a couple of times a year and really bring out a wet, deep, shiny finish, get a PC, some swirl remover (e.g., Poorboy's SSR2 or SSR2.5, Meg's #83 DACP, etc.), a polish/glaze, and some great carnauba wax. Go to the "learn!" link at the top regarding using a PC to remove scratches and swirls.

I just did my first swirl/scratch removal on my black onyx RX 400h this weekend (will post pics in Click & Brag later). I can't imagine doing it effectively without a PC. As mentioned above, I have a clear coat (which wax obvious from no black residue appearing on my polishing pads).

Hey JasonATL just wondering if you ever posted your Pictures. Maybe you can show us your step by steps. I want to see the results. Also how is the RX Hybrid treating you? :) I love the Lex. :)

Any experience Terry with it? I know its new so I just wanted to see your opinion of it. Also if you ahve any pics with results that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what would be the best way to find out if it doesn't have clearcoat. If it doesn't how much more careful do I have to about the products I use on it? Please let me know. Thanks.

Manuel,

Terry details my 1998 Lexus GS400 and has used Fusion on it a couple of times - seems to be awesome stuff.

Also, here's a good thread on ClubLexus in our detailing forum that has some info on various Lexus black clearcoat experiences (and 'how to find out')

Damn Dave your GS is sweet! What process did Jason use on your GS? Props for that shine and that's a beautiful black. I'm loving the body kit on it. What kind is it? Any mods on that GS? Details please. :)

Thanks guys! The kit is from various mfgrs.... a Win Corporation Racing Type II up front & sides, a Veilside hood & grill and an L-Sportline rear bumper. Good eye on the intercooler - it is supercharged with a RMM-designed Vortech unit.

Lol, yeah pretty much all the mods that are out there are on it. Here's an old mod summary (don't have a later version online), some changes since then (such as the bodykit and hood, plus tweaked a bit more hp and tq out at about 380 rwhp / 354 ft lbs.
