What products do you regret buying?

my Flex 3401 had it for almost a year now and used it maby 4times..My Griots does everything I need..Now I plan on getting rid of the flex.
Funny you say that, I feel the same way, kinda. I can get BETTER cut with my G110v2(using either surbuf or MF pads) than anything I've ever used with the 3401. Plus, with the G110v2, I don't feel like I'm fighting the polisher. I'm really trying to like my 3401, but it's just not happening.

Wow! That's got to be a really big, expensive disappointment when it comes to not feeling a polisher. I rarely use my Cyclo these days but at the time it was kinda the bridge between the PC and a rotary.

I just got back from there :) got some Low profile HT pads, sprayers and everything was 20% off :)

D'OH! Guess they don't have a newsletter. If you aren't on Twitter or Facebook or check their blog once in a while you miss this stuff.

Since buying the Griots, I don't use my Flex as much anymore either. But I may pull it out soon, just to play around with the smaller backing plate. Maybe I'll fall in love with it again.

This looks like the former Back to Black which ( years ago)I liked on trim as long as it stayed dry outside; if it got wet, it would run down and stain the paint. It was difficult to remove from it.

I regret:
1) Swissvax autobahn wheel wax and cleaner(waste of good money)
2) Simple Green
3) P21 wax (expensive and sticky-accumulates dust like crazy)
4) Finish kare detailer(streaks)
5) Monster MF

prima wheel armour.
i have a good customer that loves rejex on his bbs wheels.
i ran out of rejex when his car was at the shop so i tried to sneak it by him with the prima wheel armour lol.
the next time he was at the shop he complained about the "rejex".i couldnt hold it in so i told him. i have not used prima wheel armour ever since lol.
for wheels i continue to use rejex as my go to sealant.

Because of all the trouble I've had with this I just wanted to let everyone know my personal experience with it..

Product: Brinkmann Tuff Max Dual LED Swirl Finder Spotlight

Brinkmann Tuff Max Dual LED Swirl Finder Spotlight, Brinkmann flashlights

I should have done some research before shelling out $40.00 for dual light hemorrhoid!

  1. The lamps are too small unless you're working in the garage with the overheads light off.
  2. Each LED will pivot to 45 degrees in each direction. This insures that you will able able to see if your paint defect removal is uniform throughout panels. A very useless feature
  3. The unit is advertised to have a high and low beam.
    1. Trigger click 1 - high beam
    2. Trigger click 2 - same beam
    3. Trigger click 3 - Lights off
  4. Unit drains new batteries even though it's off.
    1. Replaced with new batteries 2 weeks ago and have not used it once. I went to use it today and the batteries are once again almost dead...

Some might say send it back but I cannot be bothered. Now I've read several reviews that my experience with this light is very common. If I took the time to box it up and return it just to have another lemon I think I'd scream..it's now in the trash

Overall rating: a minus 4

Interesting Bobby. I have the Brinkman but my lights do not swivel. It could be brighter but seems to work. I find holding it away from the paint works better than up close. My battery lasts a long time while off. They must have changed a lot when they did the model you purchased. I paid around $29 at Pep Boys for mine.

Bobby is referring to the brinkmann LED, not the dual xenon one.

He's got the dual LED version, not the dual Xenon that I'm guessing you have... as do I. There's also one with a single Xenon and single LED. I've had nothing but great results with my dual Xenon and use it all the time for all kinds of things. Battery life has been exceptional. YMMV.

Unfortunately after about 4 years my dual xenon Brinkmann's battery is shot and won't hold a charge any more I think I'll eventually get a Black and Decker model I read good things about

I agree, and that turtle wax "ice" crap, didn't do jack for my car. I guess alot of people who start off washing their own cars make the mistake of buying turtle wax products, which they claim 'Turtle wax' is the #1 most bought wax in america

hi my name is fred i own a auto detailing business i only use morthers products and they work very well for me.

My most recent regret is Opti Bond Tire Gel.

It was applied on Friday, two coats, 1 hour apart and buffed after 30 minutes. The car didn't leave the garage until Tuesday. A rain shower on the way to work caused it to streak. I now have striped tires.

Mark. 90%? Please save us the agony and post them.

Hi folks! First post - anyways, great site!

I was shocked to read this! I have this same problem with 99% of the jazz out there, except for the Opti Bond. Do you apply it with an applicator, or mix it and use a spray bottle?

When I get the hang of this, I'll take a picture before and after. I love how it never turns brown or comes off. Perhaps I have different luck!

Adding to the thread though:
1. Optimum Car Wax (OCW) - always streaks, unfortunately.
2. Micro-Restore Microfiber Detergent - towels always came out with a "filmy" residue.
3. Zaino products - never had good luck with them not streaking, or longevity. Always seemed to be too much hype, in comparison to other products that I have tried.
4. Many more, just don't want to put people to sleep!
