i have a silver wrx and was wondering what combinations you've had best luck with on a silver car.

I've had excellent results doing a wash, clay, then Poorboy's Polish with Carnauba sealed with Mother's FX Synwax. Very flakey and crisp.

Proper polishing, then AIO topped with a sealant gives me the look I like on silver. EX-P, Acrylic Jett, UPP, Detailer's Pride, Zaino, etc all look great on silver.

anyone ever use the VM/RMG/CMW on silver? results?

Clearkote's Vanilla Moose with a Meguiars polishing pad, CK's Yellow Cream Wax with a Meguiars finishing pad, Carnauba Moose Wax by hand.

Scott... you are the man!!! How did you like this finish? And how did you like the YCW? is it worth the extra step? I can not wait to get my order frm Clearkote. I will use it on my friends RSX, but when I get homw, I have so many new things to try on my silver Audi... I have CK's: VM/RMG/YCW/CMW, Meg's #16, P21S GEPC, Natty's Blue, and a new tin of NXT. What ever shall I do? lol

would the addition of a glaze such as RMG hurt the flake pop of the aio/upp combo?

It's unlikely. Many folks with blake metallic cars use RMG and it doesn't seem to adversely effect flake. I don't think what RMG will do to silver (never tried it), but it makes black look very deep and slick.

I'm pretty much the same camp as everyone else re: silver paint. EX-P looks fantastic on anything with flake, especially silver, and topping it with either nattys just make the paint look dripping wet.

Nice CK combo Scott, just what Everett receommended to me the other night. Looking forward to trying it out. I also like AIO topped with OCWx2 - I find my flake pops and the reflections are harder than with paste waxes. I'm sure I could get harder reflections by topping with a pure sealant, but I kind of like the shimmering depth OCW gives... :xyxthumbs

Ah yes, shimmering depth. The one thing true sealants seem unable to duplicate vs carnaubas on dark colors. That deep, rich glow when you look at your car at an angle.

Amen to that. Sadly enough down in my parking garage there is this one angle where the sickly fluorescent lighting hits my car just right that I'll sometimes just kind of stare at for a few minutes. :dance
