What pads to order...

New member
for a weekend warrior? I was going order a couple of white pads, yellow pads, viper MF bonnets and a pad cleaning spur.



Am I forgetting anything?



BTW are these worth getting or should I just get the regular old white/yellow pads? http://www.properautocare.com/glosresfin.html



Oh yeah, is the Autoglym glass polishing kit worth getting or should I look at something else?

If you are going to use bonnets to buff you will need to get a wool pad also, but if you breakdown the polish properly you shouldn't need the bonnet to buff, you will only need to do a final wipe down by hand.



This link has been posted numerous times so if you do a search for pads or something it should've turned up somewhere. Anyway, go to http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/detailing/forum.php?postid=1430487&page=1, good info. for someone just getting into PC work. Two each of yellow and white to start (probably want to start with 6" pads).



Autoglym is a great polish but the kit might be overkill. If your glass is spotted and has an icky film, you can clean it with #0000 steel wool and glass polish and still be able to accomplish the same results as the kit at a fraction of the cost.

i was like you and thought that the bonnets were a great idea, i acually have a bunch but i never used them. It is much easier to just take it off by hand with a M/f the having to switch to a wool pad and but a bonnet over......JMO

Beason: I was thinking the same thing. Right now, I've got the MF towels and couldn't be happier, so I'll probably stay with them.
