i have a show coming up in a couple of weeks and i want to polish my car and get rid of some scratches and minor swirling, i know from experience vett clear is hard, i've never been able to get it perfect, any suggestions on what would be the best way to tackle this would be appreciated.

You might need to wool a Corvette. Since they are made from plastic, the paint doesn't heat up very well. I would cut with 3M Extra duty rubbing compound with wool buff pad. Switch to orange LC pad with SIP, then finish with white pad and Menz. nano polish. If you're taking the car to a car show, I would recommend using a high quality carnauba like Zymol.

There are too many variable to say definitively, but a pretty popular approach is LC purple foamed wool with Menzerna SIP and LC white foam with Menzerna PO106FF.

Disclaimer - Some need more, some less. Always go with the least aggressive method possible. Additional steps before and/or after may also be of benefit. :)

i use a rotary/flex/and pc mostly flex on my zo6

orange LC pad w/ Menzerna SIP

white LC pad w/ Menzerna nano PO106FF

these are the best products imho for the super hard vette clear coat

i take great pride in my z06 and spend many hours keeping her pristine

good luck keep the WAVE ALIVE:wavey:wavey:wavey

thanks for all your suggestions i think i'm gonna go with the menzerna line and lc pads, i've only heard positive thing about their products.

M105 / white LC pad with a Makita followed up with Menz IP/ orange pad via PC is a nice combo for vette clear........

Presta UCCL / PFW with a Makita followed up with Menz IP / orange pad via PC will work too.......

A third step ( if your still intrested at this point....:grinno:) with UF or PO 85 RD can get it even a little finer if your eyes aren't satisfied......

i purchased menz po85 and po106fa with white and orange lc pads 4". i tried the white 4" pad with the 85 and nothing the swirls were'nt budging, then i went to the orange pad and although it's slow going it's working but it's going to take some time of which i have plenty. i guess it would go alot faster if i had a rotary but i don't at this time, i'll purshase one in the future or maybe if i'm good i'll get it for xmas or birthday, any way thanks again for your input and feel free to comment.

got done with the polishishing and applyed dwg, fk1000p2x, upgp2x, and buffed using oid w/mf and pc.
