What over Klasse SG?

I polished my car last weekend with my UDM and wow i love the results!. Clayed then I used an orange pad with sfx-2 then used Klasse AIO by hand then followed with one coat of Klasse SG. That took me 8 hours! My wrists have been so sore that I cant lift weights! I applied the SG to thick so I used some Eagle One quick detailer to help remove, that is okay isn't(didn't hurt the klasse?)



I am going to rewash this weekend and want to add some more protection. I have some NXT 2.0 laying around that I want to use. Will it work fine over my SG? Or should I get another wax?(something OTC preferably). Could I relayer SG then a coat of wax or NXT 2.0?

What is the general opinion of klasse these day? I bought some last year but i know many other sealants have became pretty popular lately. I still don't the best way to have it adhere to the paint though. I dont have AIO, i just have the SG and the last time i did it i stripped everythign off the car first with ISO alcohol then applied.
 
IMO KSG is still OK stuff to use, sorta like old-school waxes like #16 are still just fine. Other stuff being on the market doesn't change this.



I've quit topping my KSG as I like to (gently) clay and reapply it from time to time.



Four-six layers of KSG will give more than enough protection to last until the marring gets so bad that you'll want to repolish ;)



Applying the KSG straight to clean paint oughta work fine, but with AIO products being so handy I'd have some around anyhow.
 
Unless you don't care for the appearance of the SG, I'd simply add a layer(s) of SG on top. (Although I don't personally subscribe to the "More layers = better" approach)



Once you go to a wax topper, you'll need to reapply the AIO in order to get future layers of SG to stick.



I prefer to use only SG.



After I get the initial layer on, I simply spray on/wipe off a 1:6 SG:Water mix as a quick detailer after each wash. This tops up the protection, and really gives the paint "pop" after each wash.

I'm mighty new at the detail fun, but I put Optimun Wax over KAIO and SG and it seem to turn out real good. Its definitely slicker than anything......
 
I use to top SG with a wax several years ago (either S100, M16, or Natty's). These days, I just leave it be with only the occasional QD wipedown after a wash. Gives me the option of retopping with another layer of SG later down the road.



I primarily use SG on my parents car as I don't wash their cars very often...
 
I'm relatively new to detailing but isn't SG a synthetic designed to last for LONG periods, i.e. 6-8 months? I would think that applying a couple coats of SG, then topping every 6 weeks or so with a really good carnuba should do it. Then, after the 6-8 month period, clay, polish if need be, seal, wax right? Maybe I'm missing something?

I only get the ad-copy-level durability with four-six layers. When I was topping it with #16, I got "dead wax artifacts"...a not-perfectly-clean effect that very gentle claying only partially resolved. I don't seem to get the same thing when I use the KSG straight :nixweiss



With all those layers, I got *more* than 6-8 months too! That might've been a matter of my specific situation, but I was so wowed by it that I sorta reconsidered my routine and that's when I decided to stick with just leaving it untopped and sprucing it up with something like FK425 or the BF or UPP QDs after every wash.
