Where do I insert Water spot removal with vinegar/water???

...after clay or SMR???

Thats a lot of work, your car must be in serious help !!

Good order you have there.....As for the water spot removal, I think I would do it after the clay.....I went thru a similiar scenario about 2 weeks ago, black Miata....

1. wash

2. Clay

3. Vinegar

4. SMR

5. Polish (Finish line)

6. Meg's #20

7. Wizards Final Cut (To remove # 6 above)

8. BF Original

You also may want to hose off after claying, normally I wipe with a moist 100 % cotton towel, in the direction the wind moves...

Then MF..... One more thing to consider, waxing after SG'ing...Make sure you get all the SG coats you want, cuz Im not sure you can re-SG, once wax (Carnauba) is on.....I guarantee others will know, and will post replies....good luck, send some b4 and after pics !!

Patrick is correct. You cannot apply SG over a carnuba wax, it will not bond properly. You can apply SG over SG, and Carnuba wax(not a cleaner wax) over SG. P21S(S100) looks great overtop of Klasse SG.

You're right, if you want to keep it simple you can stop with just 1 coat of SG. You can go a little further and apply 2 or more coats of SG to increase the level of shine and durability. Then if you want to make your car's finish really pop, top it off with a good carnauba.

Thanks for the replies. My main concern was when I go after the water spots.
Sorry, I didn't get the whole gist of what was discussed with you in Chat last night, but I think the answer might depend on what kind of water spots they are. If they were hard water spots I imagine I'd try to remove them before claying because they're physical residue lying on the paint. Use vinegar for this. If they're oxidized into the paint though I'd do it after claying and kind of mesh it with the polishing step. Try DACP or the 3M Med. Oxidation Remover wax Mrdetailer used.

I believe that Vinegar is some type of an acid. If you leave your hands in vinegar long enough your hands will start to burn. Baking soda will neutralize the acid. Here is what I would do, wash the heavy dirt off the car. Use a sponge and bathe the car with a diulted vinegar and water solution and then rinse. Repeat this process until you believe the vinegar has none all that it can do to remove the water spots. Then wash with a good PH balance car wash to neutralize the acid and then it time to clay,SMR,AIO, SG and top with s100 if so desired.

Good luck
