What? Microfiber PANTIES?!

So the fiancee and I were in the local JCPenney, and headed to the lingerie section...

Now, I am one who gets all uncomfortable and stuff when next to this type of thing. Going into a Victorias Secret by myself, forget it. Online ordering please!

I was looking the other way at the cookwares and kitchen stuff. She goes, "Here, feel this!!" I look at she has her hand on these panties, and I get grossed out and say, "My [insert under garment type here] come in a plastic bag!" She insists on me feeling these. I feel them and OMG, THEY ARE MICROFIBER. I started with the endless jokes from there on..

Can I sit you on the car and move you around to buff?

Does this mean I have to wash your microfiber panties with my microfiber towels!?

If I run out of towels, can I use your panties!?

Anyway, you get the point....I didn't know they created such a thing. Microfiber is becoming more mainstream!

Ninja Edit (courtesy of Scottwax) : Edited so I don't reveal what type of underwear I have on!

MicroFiber is being used in all sorts of things these days. I've seen couches with MF. I guess if you run out of towels, you can take the covers off the cushions if it's really an emergency :)

I guess in the case of the underwear, it would help if your GF had a J-Lo butt.

Are you guys serious or just joking around? Do you think microfiber sized yarns were invented for detailing use? Microfiber yarns have been around since the 1980's first used in lingerie and clothing. I have a microfiber baseball jacket from 1987 that I still wear.

I'm sure Leo knows the answer to this, but I believe "Ultrasuede" was one of the first--my mother had a coat made of it, it was a fake suede, but it was just as expensive IIRC, I didn't realize until recently, when I bought a cheap jacket like it, that it was MF.

Yes, quite right. What's the big deal? (though I would like to see a photo of those panties - especially with someone shapely in them! :o )

Yes Ultrasuede, and it's competitor Mochasuede, is a nonwoven microfiber fabric, it is not woven like tradional fabric but actually made with a process similar to paper making. It was first introduced in the 1970s. It is still made today by Toray Industries but is not as popular as it used to be. At one point the designer Halston made his career on this fabric in the 1970s.

I have a roll or two of this stuff and considered using it to upolster my car seats but it wears down and shines up too easily.

So what cleaners get snail trail out of MF? LMAO! Ahhhhh I suppose if pics were available this would have been posted in the click n brag section?

Hmm, I'm strangely aroused. This could begin a bad trend of Autopians becoming a little too excited when they go to wax their cars due to a subconscious association with other things...
