Hi everybody, This is my first post on autopia.

my top five sealant

1. zaino z2 --> I like the look on my light color car and combine the easy of use dan very durable

2. BFWD --> I am very impress with the easy of use, the slickest and nuba look.

3. Power Lock --> Almost the same with bfwd and I think this stuff is more durable

4. UPGP --> the easiest stuff that i had tried.

5 FK1000p --> I like the new "clear coat" added.

1. HD POXY - easy to use, looks awesome, nuba looks, a head turner, price

2. tie BFWD - use, nuba looks HD Nitro Seal easy to use great looks.

3. Z-2 - good all around sealant

4. ZAIO - Best AIO I have used

5. Z-5 & DG 105 - tie, both rate good in my book

Welcome to Autopia!!

HD Poxy

Meguiar's M20 Polymer Sealant

Finish Kare's 1000P

HD Nitro Seal

Menzerna Power Lock

I also like Chemical Guy's Jetseal and M-Seal.

I can't really place them in any specific order, they all fit the bill for different applications. Overall good products.

Very good list of sealants. Top notch.

If you were to rate them on durability only (winter is coming) how would they rank?

My coming winter sealant would be 2 coats of fk1000 just on the roof and 3 coat of z2 pro on the vertical panel and engine hood, because I like zaino looks more. zaino itself is very durable.

I believe FK1000 protect better than z2 pro, so I will put fk1000p on roof for protecting against Water spot, tree sap...

Without doing side by side comparison, and just basing it off personal use of each, one product at a time, I would list them for durability as follows.

HD Nitro Seal (Based on others reviews, so far going strong for two months +/-)

Finish Kare 1000P

HD Poxy

Menzerna Power Lock

Meguiars Polymer Sealant

M-Seal

Jetseal 109 (Hard to gage because of an initial lack of beading from this product to begin with.)

Can't say I really have a top 5, really don't see the point of keeping that many sealants on hand. Opti-Seal is my go to sealant, occasionally use DP's Poli-Coat. Everything else just sits.

Opti-Seal looks great, easy to apply, good durability and protection

Poli-Coat has a wet look, resists dust build-up and holds up well to frequent washing

HD Poxy is all I use for standard sealant applications.

Easy to use.

Lasts at least 2.5 months in my climate.

Meguiar's Synthetic Spray Wax for my wash and waxes.

Very easy to use.

Sprayable onto a wet surface.

Lasts up to 5 weeks.

FK1000P- Durability (with at least two layers) and dirt-shedding, signature look that I don't always like on everything.

KSG- Durability and protection (when heavily layered), no trim-staining, but only so-so looks.

ZAIO- Actually somewhat durable even though it's an AIO. Pretty good dirt-shedding.

UPP- Great looks and slickness, but minimal protection and durability.

BF- Carnauba-like look, but so-so durability and protection.

+1. Life is too short to have to work with five.

  • FK 1000p (for when I'm looking for heroic longevity, terrific year-round protection)
  • DP's Poli-Coat (for when I'm in a hurry)

Two other excellent options I like a lot:

  • Werkstatt duo
  • Klasse twins

(I haven't used some of the newest products. I know I'm well-situated to discover some new magic from these :) )

OS - can't resist its ease of use and versatility.

FK1000p - durability and enhanced 'clear coat' look.

Jet seal - as shiny as it gets.

845 - Just didn't appeal to me to use it further than 1 wheel. The fact that it apparently plays well with trim might be a plus.

Haven't tried a 5th yet. Would be interested in FMJ or power lock :)

I have tried several sealants at one point in time, but I always end up going with carnauba as I prefer the looks. With that said, I still maintain a spot in the cabinet for the following sealants. In no particular order:

- Klasse Twins - durability, durability, and durability

- Zaino Z2 Pro - high durability and looks pretty damn good on silver

- UPP - Very nice wet look with ridiculous slickness and below average durability

I was once an avid supporter of Wolfgang (bought 3 or 4 bottles over last few years that I have used up) but the increase of its price as put it right in the middle of comparable, if not better, products.

i am also fan of wdgps 3.0 , My seller bought galon size and divide into 16 oz repacking bottle, so the price is cheaper .

Duragloss 501 use this one most often looks great, durability is top notch and the cleaning ability is wow

Four Star UPP w/polycharger easy on and off, looks great, very durable

Optimum Opti Seal easiest sealant I have ever used, great looks, 2-3 coats will last a good while

Finish Kare 1000p long lasting, looks like a second layer of clear was put on

Bilt Hamber Auto Balm might not be the easiest at first but once you learn it the product is great long lasting, fills in minor imperfections, looks good and lasts forever

Great, I've beey trying to simplify what I use but you guys are going to make me try Nitro-seal on something now!

My top picks - only 3

1) BFWD - Absolutely wonderful to use, caranuba look, great slickness at first, if it was more durable I'd throw everything else out.

2) Menzerna PowerLock - It has almost all of the same attributes at BFWD so maybe 1 & 2 are a tie for me

3) Zaino Z2 - Nothing better on light color cars - bit finiky to work with at times, durability is outstanding

FK1000P: I was very impressed how well this product releases contamination. With two coats, the durability is great. The only downside is application/removal can be a PITA is you’re sloppy.

Opti-Seal: Doesn’t get much easier than this especially when applied via my airbrush. Even when using other LSP’s, I still use OS for some trim pieces, wheels, touch ups, etc.

Zaino Z-5/Z-2: Predictable, easy to use (IME), good durability, etc. While I don’t use it as much as I use to, I still like it.

Wolfgang Fuzion: Price aside, I was really impressed with how easy this product was to use (I received a free, $45 sample size of this a while back). I especially liked it on trim. Next time there is another big sale, I will likely buy a jar just to have it on hand.

Wolfgang DGPS: This was also a sample I received. I was impressed with the durability and ease of use (it’s what is currently on my Challenger). I don’t have much experience with the product but during application/removal it reminded me of Zaino.

Although a coating, I think Opti-Coat is worth mentioning. While the jury is still out (in regard to my personal experience), I am eager to see how well it continues to perform on my wife’s Forester. ….I applied it a few months ago.
