What is your favorite compound via rotary?

How does Strada 1000 compare to HTEC?

I think I tried HTEC once or twice with wool and did not care for it. If I remember right it was gumming up the wool. I have never used S1000 with foam either....

If you use black wool and S1000, you are going to need to follow with something like green wool and P1500. Then depending on the hardness of the clear, you can finish with something like ZAIO/rotary on a vette to get rid of the slight holograms.

Have you tried the Presta ultra cutting creme light with wool yet? It's still my number 1 light compound/polish to use with wool.

Once my current stock runs out thats what im ordering. I have to research a bit and see what is supposed to go with the yellow and green wools.

I use it on either one depending on the hardness of the clear and the condition of the paint.

I would like to have both, never know when i will need more bite.

They have quite a few compounds and polishes, kinda confusing when ya try to get into a different line of products.

I will probably get both UCC and UCCL

The light version is perfect for most tough jobs via wool. The regular is geared more toward beat up finishes that need a lot of correction along with wetsanding. The regular is used on a black 100% wool pad. It will leave a sharp reflection.

They do have a few and they are geared for mainly wool. I have used the UCC regular on a coarse foam pad with great results and the gloss that it revives out of the paint is superb. It reminds me of a coarse version of 106.

I have to say that Presta UCC or UCCL are my goto when the job is rough either with a orange or green 7.5/8 I can find it locally easy so I don't have to stock up. I would love to try the HTEC or other versions of HT.

I wanna try their swirl remover also.

That works excellent with a lite wool pad at restoring deep gloss. The only problem is that it is not perfect on a foam pad as it is with wool. But with all the choices we have out there, there is a polish/compound for almost every pad style.

I will use 106 on a polish foam pad after swirl remover and the gloss will just be totally insane. It hard to get any better than that.

yesterday I was playing around with some meguires 84 and 83 via wool and foam and I personally do not like them at all. 84 dusted like crazy with wool and the finish was poor. UCCL cleared it up and brought it to an extreme gloss with only light wool marring which 106 took care of.

If I had a second choice for wool, it would be OP polish. It does not dust neither and it will give a pretty good shine.

I also tried 3M 3000 series compound and it removed quite a bit of defects while leaving a nice bright gloss. It was $42 a bottle though. Does dry up a tad, but if you prime the pad with OP then it will work longer and creamier. Add a tad of 106 to the pad and you now have one heck of a gloss producing, cutting compound all in one.

I will be mixing and matching some potions to come up with the best mix and cut possible via foam pads.

I dont like OP with wool. I have found any oily compound/polish just matts the wool down and takes away its cut.

I like megs #83 with wool though, cuts fast but makes a hell of a mess of the finish. But thats to be expected when trying to do heavy cutting.

Try UCCL light and you will be in love. Great gloss and great cut with none of that mess. There will only be fine wool marks and that's it.

Nope, would love to have it but i cannot justify the cost. Even Presta is on the pricey side for me.

I still use OP for my finishing polish.

I use megs #80 once in awhile with my PC if i cannot get a perfect finish on softer paints. Im gonna try some other finishing polish just for the PC. Im thinkin Danase's abolisher #1 or XMT's #2 since these are geared more for use with DA machines.

You can take away any polish from me, but if anyone ever took my 106, I would have to kill them. That is the one and only finish polish in the world that will finish the way it does....Bar none. It will take your correction work to a whole new level of glory and also finish 100% swirl free via rotary with ease. It is the most important part of my detail and I would quit if I did not have it. OP does not even have a 1% close chance of the characteristics of what this polish has and can do.

It's worth every penny in the world and cost per car is like 50-75 cents. I personally think it is very cheap for $50. It rounds out the smallest faint scratches that will not remove, so it gives the illusion of it gone even in the sun. It gives you the best razor sharp image ever possible...

It is by far the best I have ever tried in 18 years of product testing.....EVER!:grinno:

I agree. I don´t hang up on the price, if a product IMO is superior anything else I have used, then $30 more is nothing.

How does Presta UCC and UCCL react on orange/yellow/white LC foam pads on a rotary. I'd really like to try out Presta but have no samples so I would like to get this right before I buy any of it.

Also, where can you get presta locally?
