what is your favorite, and most used clay bar?

can be found OTC for around $11-$12 at your local AZ and it doesn't include anything else you don't need and have to pay more for. I like to keep the bottles and refill them as well..

I'm currently using Adam's clay and it seems to do really good work. No stick problems and it definitely removes the contaminates, wish I had pictures to show.



I've used both Mother's and Meguiar's mild clays and they both worked pretty well.
 
I use Sonus Green, I got 15 bars of it when there was a fire sale going on for $5.00 a piece. I also use the purple clay bars found from washway for like $13.5/ea.

I used Griot's for ages, starting with their v1.0 stuff (green in color). It's not bad stuff, and at one time it seemed to be identical to the Mother's clay of that period.



I do find that the use of SpeedShine as lube makes it somewhat less effective than I'd usually like; no more gentle than the Sonus green but less effective at cleaning.



Don't take the above as a slam, I only switched from Griot's when the Sonus green and (now unavailable) SmartClay came out.

Sonus seems somewhat lube-sensitive; I only use Glyde with it, and plenty of that.

No offense taken. I don't make Griot's Clay, I just use it. A thread like this is just opinion, and yours is just as valid as mine, and vice-versa.

If you're happy with the Griot's (which I can certainly understand!),I wonder how you'd like it with other lubes, at least for jobs where you could do with a little added aggressiveness :think:
 
The cheapest and mildest clay that fits the situation. I don't think that I've purchased a single brand more than once yet...but I tend to buy clay in larger quantities.

I've only tried it with one of CG's lubes, and I liked Speed Shine better. I'm not a fan of many of Griots products, but his clay and Speed Shine strike me as two of the winners. Actually, I'm warming up to more Griots products it seems, now that Autogeek carries that brand, and I can get reasonable shipping prices and more frequent discounts.

Heh heh, I often find myself defending Griot's :D While some of their stuff *really* disappoints me, a lot of their products work great for me. Pricey though...
