What is your current method of drying???

Hey I was just curious as to most popular method of drying after a wash.?

I started using an absorber a few years ago then switched to a CWB, then I found this siteb:xyxthumbs and switched to a wipe down with a WW, and currently just blotting dry with a WW. My next method may be spraying down with adam's detail spray and then wiping dry.



What do you guys chose??

Sheet water using the hose, followed by blotting with a cotton towel, and finishing off with short wipes using waffle weave towels.



For qew washes I just do short, gentle wipes using a costco microfiber towel and then follow up with a waffle weave.



In both cases i go around the car once more with a towel and a qd (clearkote quikshine, eagle one wws, eimann fabrik clear pearl).

I use a leafblower followed by WW. That shoud probably be added to the poll,

Wash, Blow with leaf blower, spray car with Spray and Wipe, then use the Excel WW MF towel to dry.

I wet a MF towel, wring out the excess water and wipe.

Some times I use my Leaf blower followed by MF to get any left over water.

My primary method of drying is (and this will make some people shudder )

CWB on the roof, hood, trunk all windows and on the big flat sections on the doors to get most of the water then a MF to get the rest.

I've heard of useing a leaf blower, but I never considered it until I saw a tip on a video over at Adams. He was using a hose attached to the outflow of a vacuum cleaner to blow the water out of the cracks and crevices.



I plan on trying that next time. The 530i traps a lot of water in a couple of places.

I agree with sheeting the water with a hose, removes a lot of the water just doing that. Then I lay the WW on the car and run my hands over it, causing the towel to wick up what water is left on the surface of the car. No rubbing, no dragging anything across the surface and the car is perfectly dry. I then will go over the car with another WW to get what is in the cracks and crannies.

I use a leaf blower too. Only if I miss a spot or two do I use a MF towel for touchup drying.

Sheet water off without hose nozzle

Use Leaf Blower

Follow up with Pakshak Waffle Weave and 24 x 24 MF

Sheet water with the hose, then wipe with WW.

Then drive the car around the block to remove trapped water, and dry again with a WW.



Mini-WWs for the wheels, Walmart MFs for the tires/door jambs.

No nozzle rinse, then double sided tricot weave drying towel

Lay it out, fold it in half twice.

I do the glass first, then roof, bonnet, boot, left side and right side, then change to another towel and dry the door jambs and rubber seals and finally, engine bay



have always followed that with a QD with wash mitt and other side of the tricot drying towel or if that's too wet, a white ultra fine pakshak MF buff cloth

Slow no nozzle rinse, open all doors, hood & decklid then rinse all soap residue from those area's. Park on incline while pat dry with cotton towel. Any water run off, will QD later.

Rinse sheet water off without hose nozzle. Get the remaining water with the Absorber or MF in case I apply a QD or Quick wax.

1. sheet off water with hose as much as possible.

2. fold ww in quarters and turn to a different dry side as needed.

3. follow up with quick detailer & microfiber to get all missed water spots/streaks.



this method has worked for me with no problems :up

A blow dry and WW blotter here.

Sheet water with hose. Wipe dry with Big Blue WW. Follow up with smaller GC WW if Big Blue is soaked.
