Help!!! Santa got my xmas list wrong. Sony PS2 vs a PC 7242. I need to adapt the 7/16 - 20 threads of the polisher to a 5/8 -11 thread for a meguirs backing pad any suggestions?
 
I had the same problem. I ordered the Meguires plate from carcareonline not knowing it was the wrong one. I searched all over town and could not find any kind of adapter. I called carcare and asked them about it and they sent me the correct backing plate the next day and told me to just send the wrong plate back. They were great about it. Talk to the company you got the plate from and see if they will take care of you also.
