What is the sealant that comes with new Toyotas?

A friend just bought a 06 Toyota Solara and wants me to apply the clearcoat protector the came with his purchase.



What kind of a sealant is it? What prep should I do?

Not only are the ripping people off with their "paint sealer" but now they are even talking the owners to apply it themselves! LMAO

Throw it out and use something you know is my suggestion.

I doubt they actually put anything on the paint when they say "sealant". It's a factory-prepared option that a lot of cars ship with.



They can get away with it easily, since new paint beads pretty well on its own.

Use Zaino or EX-P or NXT, if you ask me.

Here's a thread that mentions it. It is in fact, a sealant for the car buyer to apply to their own car. (as opposed to getting it "professionally" done by the dealership.)
