What is the most DURABLE Sealant/Wax?

Zaino, easily. I have heard so many claims about product durabilty, but it is the only product I have used that really looks as good 3 months later as the day I applied it (suprisingly so).

I have used other products that had great durablity (if measured by water beading) such as Meguiars 16, Collonite #845, etc... IMO, neither looks near as nice as Zaino, and definetly no where near as close after 3 months.

Interesting, sounds like the Zaino works great for you. I haven't noticed any appearance degradation after several months with (layered) Collinite 476S or KSG but then again there are a zillion situation-specific factors that could account for that. I do notice that the #16 needs refreshed after a few months if I want it to look its best.

Whenever people find something that works for *them*, in *their* conditions, they oughta stick with it, and plenty of people love Zaino, so don't take the above as any kind of :argue

From my own experience in my area, on my DD, #845 has held up better than Z2 or #16.

Still beads like crazy even after using the harshest of car shampoos.

Yeah, I can't figure out what happened on the A8's rear bumper cover, it simply does better with #16 than with 845 :nixwiess

longest for me is Zaino, AJT will be 2nd among sealants.

concorso seemed to last quite a while, 2+ months...never tried collinite

I agree, this is pretty much what I have found also.

I think the durability of a sealant often exceeds a wax.....however IMO a wax topping a sealant is a must in diminishing the effects of bird bombs and water etchings....

Jeff's Werkstatt AJ or Zaino.

Same here but Werkstatt is easier. Prime then AJ. No mixing either. Plus I think it looks better on most colors, but Z5 looks better on solid black.

Scott, how important do you think it is to use Werkstatt in combination with the Prime? I've used Werkstatt AJ but haven't been hugely impressed, and I wonder if I am not getting the full benefit from it without the Prime?

I just picked up a can of collinite 476 because I was able to find it OTC at Harbor Freight. Haven't tried using it yet, but it looks like a "brick" of a wax. Hope it's going to be worth the elbow grease required to put this on. :)

My 2 choises

Z2 X 2 with SG x 2 topped with #16

#21 over PoliSeal ... saw numerous 5 month durations on my return customer cars even over winter up here.

I think it makes a difference. I get several months out of the combo. My younger son uses them on his dark metallic blue Corolla, said it beaded all winter up in northern Kentucky and his car sits out 24/7. He even called me last week to let me know he finally had to add another layer (last used some in October) and loves how it makes his paint look and the flake pop.

My older son uses #16 the Accord he just bought and used it on his Cavalier before it got totaled (rear ended), says he prefers the carnauba look.

For two kids who worked with me for several years in the summer but claim they really have no interest in detailing beyond what I paid them and getting to see some really cool cars, they sure have their definite preferences now that they have their own cars. :)
