What is the latest you've stayed up detailing?

Last night I was messing around cleaning up my truck at my grandma's house (she has a large garage which I don't) and it was getting later. I decided I would try out some new methods cleaning her somewhat dirty interior. I started this at 11PM. After I got done I was looking at the outside at spots she had used touch up paint on. All I can say is 87 year old women should not attempt to do cosmetic work to vehicles. It was on way to thick and was sprayed all over including windows and trim.

After I finally got done with machine work, I opened the garage door and see it is getting light out. WTF I thought as I had just looked at the clock in her car that said 2:40. Well after looking at my phone I confirmed her clock was not set right and it was indeed 5:23 in the morning. I had spent longer then I thought on her car. I normally enjoy detailing later because it is cooler and I just love night as it is, but I think I got of hand this time.

What is the latest you've detailed?

Depends on if it is my car or someone elses. I've stayed up till 3 in the morning with my car on several occasions prior to a show or some kind of event like that. The latest ever on a customer car was probably around midnight or 1 am. That is when they leave it with me and pick it up the next day anyway, so it isn't like I am keeping them waiting. I don't particuarly like detailing that late simply because you can't necessarily see everything you are doing. I'd rather have sunshine to check my work with.

True.... and I'm about the same times-wise. However, with all the fluorescent and halogen lights in my garage, I can usually see pretty well at any time I want.

I'd say 1 am from when I did someone's Caravan for their daughter's wedding the next day, and I had to be at work at 8 am 31 miles away. Wasn't a total loss, as it was a payday that day at work, and when I saw the van's owner he said he'd never seen the engine so clean before.:)

On busy times, I have stayed up for 72 hours detailing straigght through. Started at 8am on a thursday worked thru sunday:)

I can tell you that your quality level drops significantly as the need for sleep rises..

I was out detailing in the garage at around 1:00 AM working on the inside, I leaned back in the chair for just a sec to ....clears throat...rest my eyes...I woke up 3 hours later.

When I got my first Lamborghini customer, I was out 3a.m. cleaning and detailing my rig to make it look as perfect as possible.:D

Longest shift i ever did was 36 hours. Lots of mega man pep pills and red bull kept me going. I had just picked up a dealership account and they needed some trucks done for the weekend, As well as take care of my normal customers.
