What is the harshest wheel cleaner out there?!

I have spotted/stained wheels that are not coming clean - I have tested spots with Simple Green, soap, goo gone, etc and nothing is getting these spots out. I'll try to post pictures soon.
 
You mean those little black specs on the wheel? Try some aggressive clay and WORK it! You may also try Meguiar's Wheel Brightener, though be warned as this stuff is SERIOUS. It is HIGHLY acidic and will badly damage uncoated wheels. If they are clear coated or chromed, than you will be fine, but even so, always dilute and wear chemical resistant gloves as it is that strong. I would defiantly try and spend at least 15 minutes with clay on one spot on a wheel first though!
 
hmm.....these are BMW Forged Double Spokes on a 1998 M3 - the outside face of the wheel is polished, and in my case uncoated. The parts I am complaining about are on the inside and painted.



I will try the wheel brightener. I would need a clay pit at my disposal to get these things clean with clay alone. I really need the time advantages that harsh chemicals provide!
 
If you're looking for harsh look no further than Automagic, the clowns that use it need the chemical additives to cover up nasty craftsmenship, although i dont condone the use of most their products(thier tire cleaner and apc is ok)
 
I just got Eimann Fabrik Hi-Intensity Cleaner and tried it on my wife's Volvo wheels, came out spotless. They were covered with baked brake dust from not being cleaned as much in the winter. I started at 1:1 diluted with water, and decreased the dilution as needed.



I have to clean my wheels this weekend, and they're known to be a PITA. Seeing how easy my wife's wheels came out, I'm loving Eimann Fabrik Hi-Intensity Cleaner so far.

I would disagree with you on the majority of their product line (although you make a pretty good case for BC-2, lol), but their wheel acid is *mean*. It's a step above MWB in terms of power.



For the OP... P21S makes a new red gel, it might just do the trick. Big Jim hit it on the nail with wheel brightener being the wrong tool for the job.
 
Recently I've tried Brown Royal wheel cleaner (and MWB) on my winter driver with very bad wheels. Diluted at the recommended 1:4 Brown Royal is safe for non-clearcoated wheels too.

The use was similar to Megs WB. Spray, dwell, agitate a bit, rinse, rinse some more.

It cleaned stains, brake dust, salt residue the normal otc cleaners couldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

I'd rate it stronger than the otc products with cleaning power similar to MWB and less dangerous than MWB. (Brown Royal was used on the driver's side, MWB on the passenger side)

Neither product removed all the pesky black tar bits. Fingernail V2.0 got the remaining bits.

I looked into it, and it turns out you can't get the good stuff over here due to VOC regulations. It's P21S' heavier wheel cleaner, it's supposed to stink up a storm but work as well as the acid cleaners with a little agitation. You might be able to get it shipped from one of the euro sites though.
 
Ived used prosoco 600. Its muratic acid used to clean concrete. Works wonders on the stuff that doesnt come off with off the shelf stuff.

HYDROCHLORIC ACID (anyone remember that stuff LOL just watch the concrete your hands your brush your mitt or sponge your eyes )
 
P21S red gel is amazing, but you can't get it in the US. I have to bring it in from Germany.



Megs WB is only good on painted wheels, wear gloves and a mask. HF acid = not good for your bones.

Hmm, great results but a bit risky, hehe. I don't know... for me Simple Green holds its own. If Simple Green won't cut it, I might have to result to this stuff.
 
Make sure when you use acid, that you neutralize it so it doesn't keep burning into the finish. Wheel acid can achieve great results if used properly on the right wheel. I've used a ton of the Auto Magic Spoke, but prefer Ardex's ATTACK HD (twice as strong and 2/3's the price).
 
David, I did a Google search on Ardex's ATTACK HD but the closest thing I could come to is Ardex's ATTACK CD. Do you have a link where I can find this stuff?
