What is Colinite 476s ?

It is a Hybrid. According to Collinite, it has "copious" amounts of carnauba along with other waxes and man made ingredients. I think it gives more of a wax look than a sealant look, but it is a bright wax, not the deepest. I personally like the look, and can't see much difference between it and Collinite 915, even on dark colors. Others will differ on their opinions on the looks of the Collinite waxes.



I also find 476 easier to work with than 915, especially in humid conditions.
 
I don't even think of it as a "bright wax", not like P21s or M16. I use the 476S on dark blue pearl as IMO the M16 (which I use on silver) would be too "bright" for that car.
 
is M16 a bright wax ? Is that a wax . sealant or hybrid ?

How is winter durability compared to 476 ?
 
FWIW, M16 is a great pure wax (no cleaners) that is indeed bright and has no darkening effect typical of a carnauba. Beads like mad and very respectable protection, equal to or better than Collinite, IMO.



I like it on medium to lighter colors and makes metallic paint just pop. It is still available outside of the US where the EPA hasn't the authority it has here. It is also occasionally available on ebay. I'm down to my last two tins. A tin delivers around 80 applications as it goes on very thin. I also have pretty much moved on to different products. There are many great products available today, coatings and sealants that deliver similar looks and protection. Yet, I still top my daily driver's sealant with M16 for the winter. Fallguy, where in WI are you? I am just west of Milwaukee.

Regarding the M16...it's still around as guys like me (who have lots) sometimes sell some.



I use M16 on my wife's Audi and 476S on my older one, so it's easy for me to compare them. The M16 does *not* offer the same degree of protection against etching as 476S, let alone something like FK1000P. BUT, lest that sound overly critical, it does protect better than some sealants (e.g. UPP) and many other waxes.



I never counted applications, but a tin of it lasts me for many, many years.



A cool thing about it is the way it's "the paste wax that turns liguid" when applied via machine. It's behavior when applied this way is really something, and it can result in some *very* spherical beads, especially if you use a tiny spritz of some QD like SpeedShine and buff it off by machine using MF bonnets.



The big "BUT..." about M16 is that if you apply it thick, or miss a spot and then try to buff it off weeks later, it can be a real PIA. Used correctly I find it easy to use.



I do think it's one of those "you really oughta try this one.." waxes, like Souverän and 476S.

Accumulator what are you talking about a wax that turns fluid ? M16 , 476s or 1000p ? The only paste that turns to liquid/fluid is 845. Can you elaborate more specifically.



Do you feel the 1000p has more durability than 476 or 845 ? beading , ect..... I know its all subject to use and abuse.

I would compare 1000p directly to 476s as I own both. They appear to be very similar products but I'd grab the FK 1000p long before the 476s. Superior (slightly) durability and much nicer look, IMO.

The M16 is the Paste that Turns Liquid :D The PC sorta "melts" it in a weird way and lets you spread it over a huge area while getting it down into the pores/microfissures of the paint.

Direct comparison in my case as I had Collinite (both 845 and 476S) on the Yukon I used to own. Looked swell, but the durability wasn't good enough for me (tells ya something, huh?!? Not like Collinite is lacking in that area). I switched it to FK1000P and while the look didn't please me as much (other people loved it though) the durability issue was solved. NO COMPARISON, the FK1000P simply killed the Collinite when it came to durability/protection. Same vehicle, same conditions, same everything except the change in LSP.



Note this is a different take on the comparison than Tom P.'s!
