what is better to dry with?

zannard

If I only had more time.
To use during my drying step, which is better to use. S&W or QD?

or something else?

thanks

either Spray and Wipe or Spray & Gloss would be best for aiding in the drying process:hippi

I've recently switced to using a 50/50 mix of S&W and FD during my drying process. [note: I actually prefer S&G to FD, but I still have over a gallon of FD left to use up.]

Not to sound too dumb, but what do you mean by your drying step? Are you actually spraying a QD on the car while it is still wet after a wash and then drying with a microfiber?

Pretty much. If nothing else, it adds a little lubrication between the finish and the drying MF. Also adds a little bit of gloss IMO.

Yes. After washing, do a "flood rinse" to remove most of the remaining water. Then, mist some S&W/QD over the slightly wet car and proceed to dry with a microfiber towel. Some QDs work better with a plush terry weave MF, while others respond better to waffle weave.

:bigups

Yep, next to not having to dry at all, the above is about as safe as it get when it comes to drying. I use one of PAC's grey WW towels to lightly spread the S&W/QD mix and any remaining water. Then I use a more absorbent WW to lightly wipe the surface dry.

Interesting. I might have to give that a try this weekend. I usually just dry with my California Water Blade, then get the tight areas with a microfiber towel.

So what would be better to wipe of with, Steve, a ww towel,
one of your blue ultra plush towels, or a combination of the two?

I use a combination of the two....heavy water off with the WW and then touch ups with some more Spray & Gloss and the mega-plush towels:hippi

I would agree... as long as someone is using a product with the added lubrication/cleaning ability of a product like S & W during the drying process, then the towels are simply more of a personal preference.
