What Is Best for Chrome?

Im sure this has been a topic that has been beat to death. Ive usually just used a typical wax to shine and protect my chrome wheels on my Z28. I have come to realize that there are way better products to make them shine and even protect them longer. Does anyone have any recommendations for this?

Also..I have some light overspray on two of my chrome wheels...what do u you think I should rub them out with to rid the wheels of the overspray? I just dont want to make them even duller by using something wrong. Thanks

Cory

i would try going over the wheels with clay first to remove the overspray. Use a small piece so you can throw it away after you are done. (the brake dust will scratch your paint if used on it later) I like using a chrome polish if the wheels are dull looking ... Mothers makes a pretty good one ... Simonize is my favorite but I cannot find it anymore. Then I use Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection (Sealant). This makes the wheel easy to clean with regular car wash soap or Poorboys Spray and Wipe plus it gives them a nice shine.

its not the mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish right? its something else...
Yes, Mothers mag/alum polish is different from the chrome polish. They are both available at chain stores like WalMart.
To protect your wheels, you just have to use a wax/sealant that can withstand higher heat. #16 is supposed to be very durable in hot climates, so you could use that...otherwise use some kind of synthetic sealant. An ordinary carnauba would be gone in a matter of days due to the heat from the brakes.

I use Adams Brillance, man it is soooooo easy to use, just wipe on wait 5 and wipe off with no effort and man what a shine!

Good prepping is the key. Once you have all your polishing stages done, like AZ Ferrari Man, I too apply Brilliance as it takes to chrome very well. However, as a glaze, the protection properties are not as long lasting as a wax containing polymers. Therefore, after removing Brilliance, I then use something with a bit more protection and heat resistance to make it last longer :bigups
