What Interior Cleaning Supplies Do I Really Need?

Hey guys, I am about to make an order for my interior supplies and I need to find out what it is I really need here. Below I have a list of what I am planning on buying but I'm sure some of these things might be unnecessary. Here is what I have:

Chemicals:

- 303 Aerospace Protectant

- 303 High Tech Fabric Guard

- 303 Fabric Cleaner

- 303 Cleaner & Spot Remover

- 303 Convertible Top Cleaner

- 303 Aerospace Cleaner

- 303 Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner

Tools:

- Carpet & upholstery brush

- Convertible top brush (Do I need a separate brush for this?)

- Leather & vinyl scrub brush

- Craftsman 12 gal. wet/dry vacuum

- Some misc. nook & cranny brushes

I am willing to hear your opinions as far as comparable substitutes for some of the 303 chemicals listed above. I hear many of you use Woolite, Simple Green, and such. Are these APC's safe to use on all interior surfaces when diluted correctly? What are your diluted solution ratios? I'd greatly appreciate any and all help. Thanks!

Wow that is a lot of products. I use Woollite and Autoglym with an assortment of brushes and pads. This does not mean there is anything wrong with your list.

What is the difference between a carpet and mat brush and a carpet and upholstery brush

Hehe I just realized what I had typed out so I edited it. I'm just wondering if some of my 303 products are redundant and/or can be replaced with the likes of Woolite, Simple Green, etc. What would you all do? I have intentions of doing family and friends' cars in the near future.

Woolite, Folex, 303 dressing are must haves. Meg's has some awesome new brushes for interior work as well. The slide-lock brush is great for all of the little nooks and crannies you can't get into, and the carpet and uphoulstry brush is great on seats and carpet.

It's unnecessary to have all those 303 cleaners. All of them are the Aerospace Cleaner diluted to different ratios. I got this info from Roger at 303 Customer Service. If you buy the Aerospace cleaner you can dilute it whatever ratio you need.

So even the Aerospace Protectant and High Tech Fabric Guard are just the Aerospace Cleaner in different dilutions??? I can understand all the cleaners as being dilutions of the Aerospace Cleaner but what about these so-called protectants and fabric guards?

The 303 Aerospace Protectant is on my must have list.

Woolite mix keeps it company as well, very versatile and seems to be the safe turn to for any interior cleaning job.

Alright so I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and bought the Woolite cleaning solution for my future interior details and couldn't quite figure out which Woolite product to buy so I bough pretty much all of Woolite products that were on the shelf. I figured I'd buy a bottle of the NXT Speed Detailer while I was there.

Wal-Mart:

Yet today, I made some other purchases that summed almost to $200. :nixweiss

Autogeek:

- OXO Feather-Tip Wash Brush for convertible tops

- OXO Good Grips Large Automotive Duster for maintaining my dust-magnet of a black car

- EZ Detail Brush for engine cleaning of course

Classic Motoring Accessories:

- Leather & Vinyl Scrub Brush

- Two-Way Mini Detail Brush

- Compact Creeper Seat

- 303 Aerospace Cleaner

Top of the Line:

- 303 Aerospace Protectant

- 303 High Tech Fabric Guard

- 2 Carpet & Upholstery Brushes (1 for the carpets & 1 for upholstery)

- 6 Big Blast Spray Bottles (not such a bad price for myself and I'll have different dilutions for different applications)

I just can't wait until I get all this stuff!!! :shocked

I still need to buy the Craftsman 12 gal. 5 peak hp. wet/dry tank style vacuum.

Woolite, 303 Aerospace Protectant, 303 Aerospace Cleaner, 303 Fabric Guard.

The Woolite we're referring to is the white bottle in your picture.

You'll also love the OXO large car duster. I use mine every other day or more. It only takes a minute or less to do the whole car. :up

I got some streaks the first time I used it, even though I wrapped it in newspaper for over 24hrs. After the first time it's been streak-free. You'll just have to spray some QD on the streaks the first time.

I don't do the lower half of the car though. There's a risk that there's some dirt there, and the duster isn't made for removing that.

So do you think I should keep the other Woolite products? Has anyone had any previous experience with those other Woolite products? I'm not quite sure but can I use the Woolite Oxy Deep Steam with the Craftsman wet/dry vacuum? Can someone clarify this for me? Thanks.

I've never tried those other two Woolite products. I don't think they would be *bad*. Try them out and see how you like them.

I would assume that the Oxy Deep Steam would be fine for use in your wet-dry vac. I've sucked up Meg's APC and OxiClean with my wet-dry vac.

I have come to realize that I prefer to clean and dry interiors by hand rather than machine.

Wow, cleaning and drying by hand... that sounds like a lot of hard work compared to the wet/dry vacuum. I'll have to test it out myself but I am definitely thinking that I'm going to be loving the wet/dry vacuum method better IMO.

I'll try these other Woolite products and do a review on them if no one has already done so. I will update you all probably by this weekend.

I have found that the fabric got pretty wet when I used a machine, and the suction of the vac wasn't enough to pull all the water out of the fabric. I don't want the seats to be wet when the customer comes to pick up the car.
