What Happens if Detailing Products Freeze?

I ordered some products from Autogeek two weeks ago (gallons of Optimum Car Wax, Wash & Wax, and Megs 151), all of which arrived at my doorstep completely frozen.

The Optimum Wash & Wax specifically says to prevent from freezing, so I'm wondering how this will impact the efficacy of the product?

if really worried about it, send it to me for complete testing

You need to contact AutoGeek immediately and tell them the products arrived frozen ...

Hate to thread jack but I am wondering that also. I had the same thing happen when I ordered over the holidays with one of those sales I couldn't pass up. I ordered Sonax Profiline polish and another item to get the free big tub of BFMS wax. Of course we had been in sub zero temps pretty much all of December and of course the polish and wax showed up on one of the coldest days(daytime temp high was around -15F). I tried tracking it and of course that failed and it showed up on my step about 4 hours before I got home, would have left the door unlocked or at least the garage. Polish was pretty much solid. I PM'd the big Kahuna here with a concern about it freezing but never got an answer. I am hoping a good shake up of the product is all it needs. I would gather that the cold shouldn't really affect the hard wax but we will find out in or around May sometime. I know the deals with the sales around the big winter holidays is great for business but I know come next winter I am just going to have to bite my lip and pass on them or at least not buy any liquid products at that time.

I would give a products a really good shake as Ron has already said. If they still are separated then they are probably done. I just got an order yesterday and my gallon of DG 901 has obviously frozen cause the bottle had a huge crack in it and had leaked some.

With the winter temps we have been having product freezing is bound to happen...

Most all products that freeze just have to be shaken and they will mix right back together. Any problems call the office.

Same here. Could not pass up a 20% sale. Of course it came on one of the coldest days of the year. Well below 0. As luck is, i was home when fed-x came. Whew!

I forgot about a few products in my garage (which is not insulated or heated)
When I opened a cabinet and saw condensation on every bottle from maguires ultimate liquid wax to armor all I promptly wiped everything and moved it to my basement for the remainder of the winter.
I was able to shake the liquid wax back to its normal viscosity, it seems fine but I'm still only going to use it on the wifes car from now on.
I learned my lesson, everything will be kept out of the garage before/after use

I would love to hear from the product manufacturers about this, since they specifically indicate on their labels to prevent from freezing.

I've contacted Optimum to see what they're take is on this, and will post back here once I get an answer.

I just heard back from Optimum, and they've confirmed that there is no harm in using a product that has previously frozen: "Freezing will not harm Car Wax or No Rinse or reduce it's effectiveness, just thaw and use."

I'm sure giving it a good shake will help, as others here have indicated. But at least we now know not to worry about it!

Honestly this is the case for the overwhelming majority of products. Allow them to thaw, shake really well, and use. When water freezes it expands and crystalizes. This can upset the mixture, but once thawed and well-shook, they should work fine.
