What happened to Zaino?

^^^^

He must be an exception to the rule. Zaino is a good product, but most Zaino users, dont use or try anything else. They found the product that works for them, and stick with it. They dont care to hear about anything else.

I'm just saying, I must have missed all the posts where these so called brainwashed detailers call everything not Zaino crap. Maybe it's been years since these posts have been posted. I don't see any product for the label, I am much more interested in what's inside.

I think a key difference is that the average Zaino user would rather spend $80 on Zaino and stick with it than to spend $800 trying everything else and then going back to Zaino. Now, if you are a detailer and want to spend the money to test every product out there on your customers cars-then go for it.

I use Zaino all the time. It is the standard by which I judge other products. Believe me I have a lot of other products. My wife wants only Zaino products on her car. My truck is getting what ever I am in the mood for the day of the detail.

As far as Zaino Zealots or Zombie's are concerned, one must separate the wheat from the chaff. If the poster gives erudite information....then use it. If they are rude and unyeilding cast them to the side. Scottwax is an informed detailer and if he does not like a product he says so...and then tellls us why. BlkZ28 is a Zaino user and says so but always is the voice of reason when he posts. Use the posters information to make your decisions on which product to use. I just kick to the curb those that are unyeilding in their product choice.

^^^ I agree. There are many different likes and dislikes and there is nothing wrong with trying other products knowing that it is back up by reputable sources. Sometimes you should go on a limb and experiment (if you are into that type of thing), but report the information back here so others can benefit. Autopia is an open fourm. some of us are willing to try the next crazy product. Just let us know how it turns out. You might get some new found respect. :D

I bought the Z-triplets (AIO, CS and Z8) back in May. I also bought Z6, Z7 and leather in a bottle. This was my first experience with Zaino. I am generally impressed. The only product that has me scratching my head a bit is CS. As advertised, it works in one step, but, as a LSP, its looks do not impress. Zaino says CS should be the last product applied for maximum gloss, but Z8 looks better IMO and I top with it instead.

I guess the added durability is great, but I thought CS would at least equal Z8's looks.. I'm not seeing that. I know CS was improved sometime in Aug./Sept., so this new formula may look better.

Other than that, everything else works very well and I really like AIO (ease of use, looks) and Z8 (looks special, smells good). The others: Z7.. nice soap, but for the same money I prefer 1Z, or for less money, DG. Z6.. it's good (smells good, too), but I also like #425 and DG FC&S. The leather in a bottle works well.. nice matte finish, smells pretty good.

Looking back, if I could change the order, I probably would've bought Z2 Pro instead of CS. It looks better, and still has great durability (5 - 6 months vs. the potential 9 of CS.. whatever.)

And there is nothing wrong with that at all. But say so. Dont let people believe that Z users have tried everything under the sun and come back to Zaino. I think Zaino makes some good products. But they are not for everybody. It is a certain look. A zaino look if you will. Some prefer a Carnuba look. Others prefer different looks. My point was not that Zaino was not a good product. I love some of their stuff. But that if anyone posts anything negative about their stuff, there are riots here. It is just not for some people. It seems as though it is so "one side or the other here". It does not have to be. But zealots and haters just need to realize that it is just wax. Good for some and not for others.

I like to think I've gone full circle with detailing products, including Zaino. When I first started detailing (15 yrs ago), I used nothing but OTC products, mostly Meguiar's, a few Mothers. Back then, I thought Meguiar's was the best thing since sliced bread and had everything they made (even though I rarely touch their products now). With increasing expectations, I then graduated to boutique products and Zaino after a few years of OTC use. I guess I was sucked into the internet Z hype and then used Zaino happily and religiously for a number of years. While on a Z binge, I tried numerous boutique products, and always kept coming back to Zaino. As a recovering Zanioholic, I have since moved on from their products and found something else that (to me) works every bit as good, just cheaper and much more readily available for me. There is life after Zaino!

There is no question Zaino are great, top notch products, but there are others that work just as well, IMO, and Zaino is NOT the end of the detailing world. It's just that there is such a core group of hardcore Zainoites they refuse to accept that *anything* could ever knock Z off its rocker. I will say that the near-shill tactics among some of it core fanbase is quite a turnoff and grows old.

Anyone care to start a poll about how many pages they think this thread will get to?

How about a poll on the possibility of something actually constructive coming from this thread?

;)

To each his own, but there are many folks on this board who frown on many OTC products and still use DG 901 almost exclusively.

Not in my case. I keep trying products and looking for something better. I really like the newer Menzerna polishes and 1Z line as well.

I think you have to keep an open mind. :)

You said you were "sticking with high end stuff for now" after Scottwax recommended the DG 901 (an over the counter [OTC] product).
