What happened here!!, the Rotator...

Hi

Ok.., when I was typing this post, I checked the products names so I can post them here..., and when I checked the Bonnet that I used.., I think I have found the problem

I had always Polished and Waxed by hand.

I bought the WaXXPro Rotator because of the reading that hava done here in Autopia, and also because I always found Polish hard to remove.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009RB0K/qid=1120396360/sr=8-8/ref=sr_8__i8_xgl60/002-8796623-6566468?v=glance&s=hi&n=599858

I applied Meguiar Xscratch remover and then used the Rotator with a bonnet called...

Wooltex Bonnet...

Which when I bought I checked on the backside a chart that said..

Terry Cloth Bonnet (Excelent for removing WAX)

Foam Bonnet(Excelent for polishing)

Wool Type Bonnet(Excelent for compounding)

But I tought I had the TerryCloth Bonnet(because it wasn't Foam and I didn't see the Wooltex word at the front).. So I bought it.

So there I am at 6:00AM.., sun just coming out, my black F150 truck is on a canopy shade.

I washed my truck lightly, as it was already clean.

I started by applying Meguiars Xscratch remover.

Then I use the Rotator with the Bonnet and.. ***!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Polish was not just not being removed, it was like being sticked to my Truck's paint

So.. I guess that was the error.., is it? the Wooltex Bonnet?

So what kind of Bonnets should I use...?

Thank you

Giorgio

ScratchX is for use by hand.

Foam pads are for polishiung and swirl removal.

Wool pads are for very experienced userrs.

Oh, Ok.

How about this...?

Apply sctratch X by hand and remove by hand

Apply Polish with cotton towell by hand

Remove polish with Rotator and Foam Pad

Apply Wax with cotton towell by hand

Remove Wax with Rotator cloth pad

Thank you

Giorgio

The best thing would be to start reading detailing 101 at the top of the Forum. This will answer questions more quickly than your thread ever will. Good luck.

OK here is the deal...

Powerful high performance variable speed motor makes polishing or sanding quick and easy. variable speed dial control. low speed 1000 rpm for polishing and 3000 rpm for sanding. 11 amps variable speed motor. includes 3 cloth bonnets An outstanding value in "random orbital" polishing. This light and efficient waxer includes one bonnet and a 6-foot cord. Runs at 4000 cycles per minute. Made with a high-impact housing for a long and dependable life.

OK you need to run it slow... don't even think about running it wide open....next you say you applied the scratch x meaning what?? did you put it on spred it around and then take the polisher to it??? That would be very bad.. the product would dry outand that would do more harm then good.. like someone said you should read up on the guide to detailing and get a product made for rotary use not hand use
