What else beside IPA

Hmmm..I'm wondering if I can just wipe with New Car Prep before applying OptiCoat.  It seems like it *oughta* work, since you use NCP before applying the "black paint" prortion of their ETR kit, but I'd sure hate to mess up an OptiCoat application.

There is some observations that Car Pro Eraser may cause a issue if you use Opti Coat 2.0... as anyone else heard this or seen it.

I did read the responses here just looking for more feedback from the Pro's.

PLEASE... SAY IT AIN'T SO!  I just did this w/ 2.0 and Eraser.  I guess I'll be able to report on this very soon

Honestly, your best prep for Opti-Coat 2.0 is to use Hyper Polish and there's no need for a wipedown.

Chris... everytime I think I've prepped a car 'right' for 2.0... I find something after-the-fact that was 'wrong'... now the Eraser/OC 2.0 could be folk lore but... it worries me.

I used HP to prep the car and Eraser for some lubrication for a final wipe to ensure the panel was 'clear'.

It was ultra soft Honda black... I originally wiped the panel with a damp MF towel (per Optimum's instructions)... after, the black pearl base showed 'streaks' where the MF towels passed and water had evaporated off.  I didn't want to touch the paint with a dry MF to remove the streaking, so I used Eraser and notably "heavy" application at that.  A 2nd 1100 gsm towel was used to dry and ensure 'no streaks' of Eraser were left.

I suppose you don't have an official statement regarding Eraser and OC 2.0?

Sorry for taking us in a different direction but I had to post.

Thanks,

-Gabe

What about the traditional style Optimum polishes? I've been using Finish Polish (along with IPA wipe down)... Is that considered Kosher?
